Facilities Lacking

Poor cable TV, poor internet, some sewer connections too far above ground to work properly. Short narrow sites. Only thing going good is the location.

Why stay anywhere else?

After reading several horrible reviews it was with great trepidation that I booked DRV. I could not be happier that I did. While admittedly it is not camping, it is a great place to stay if you are visiting Denali National Park and want to enjoy the area. We had no problems with electric, water or sewage and the restrooms/showers were always clean enough to use comfortably. There are a limited number of facilities for the number of sites, but if you are in a motor home you do have your own facilities. The staff was incredible friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. I really cannot say enough good things about the way we were treated.

The park is convenient to everything including Denali National Park which is withing walking distance. That being said, if you want to camp stay at DNP or another camping oriented site. But if your are just motor homing thru Alaska and want a convenient place to stay with good utilities and clean laundry/bathrooms stay here. Oh yeah, the price was very reasonable too.

Stay at Rainbow RV

We were lucky enough to get a spot here. We were at Mt Mckinley RV park but there electricity was very poor
We were so grateful to be able to get into the Rainbow RV Park. We had read negative ads so didn't try to come here. But we were very happy to be here. They are very friendly and even had a pet sitter too. Plus some of the best cinnamon buns fresh made everyday. We enjoyed watching all the rafters and being close to the shops and the park. You should try it. They had great electricity too

Worst site ever.....!!!!!!!

We stayed two nights in this "parking lot", because we paid in advance. They CRAM RV's into an open space where most units almost touch each other. The lot is a DUST BOWL that is VERY BAD in slight wind or when vehicles move past your spot. Vehicles move past your site all day and night. Many units are backed up to the small stores where people can look into your RV, walk between your site or you can just sit and enjoy all the noise, music , smells....In our opinion this is just a cash grab....would NEVER stay at this spot again.

Close to the National Park

Just 1 mile north from the park entrance, this RV park is a large parking lot located behind a strip of stores (souvenir shops, Subway, quick food stands etc.). However, if you are going to Denali and don't want to/can't get into one of the park campgrounds, this will do. If you aren't towing a vehicle, you can go over to the McKinley Chalets and pretend you belong there and get a shuttle into the park. I would much prefer to be in the park.
