Maybe on dry day

Arrived on rainy day, parked in mud, one side sank, could not level off. Dog got wet and dirty, muddy sites. Might be different on dry day. Emergency stay only.

OLD 50’s era RV Park

Most recent stay 5-04-16 [I’m late on writing my review] ~ We camp in a "Tear Drop” style RV only 15' long w/o toilet or shower ~ plus we like to eat outdoors using the picnic table and set up our dining canopy for sun and weather protection and thus rely on condition of campgrounds facilities and being nearby our site ~ so our critique is focused in that area.
This is a Big Rig type RV park on gravel parking lot with full hookups and broken/cracked asphalt patio with picnic table. Got site close to shower / restroom building however it’s ugly – old – outdated – in sore need of some TLC and upgrading. (There’s a Home Depot 50 mi away in Show Low AZ) A good thing is the showers are generous size, have good pressure and lots of hot water and a door on each stall that affords full privacy and were very clean and didn’t smell.

The sites are the longest I've ever seen. All pull thru and probably 80-90 feet long. Parking-lot style side by side on gravel, but they are set up so that RV’s alternate so you really aren't right next to anyone. There are about six different sewer connections per site ~ really ~ and the electric, water, and cable is located toward the rear of the sites. All worked well. Great for overnight stay in big rig motor home 5th wheel or travel trailer, but not so great for pop up trailer, tear drop trailer, and definitely not for a tent. Overall the place was very clean. Desert setting so no grass, still I consider this as base camp for visiting the Petrified Forest National Park and whatever else you want to see in the area, but disagree with Good Sam 9-star rating for restrooms ~ 9 star really? ~ how’s that possible? It’s downright misleading

Older Park, Great Stop

This is an older park and does show some of the years of wear, but it is a great stop for a day or a week. It starts at the office where everyone is super helpful and will get you registered an into your site.
This is a very big park, 100 sites or more. They are micro organized and if you follow their instructions exactly you'll be kicking back in your site in no time.
This sites are very long, more than twice the normal size and can be entered from either end. They are also rather close. So to give everyone some space and a patio with a picnic table, the rv's drive into their pull-through from alternating sides based on odd and even numbers, then pull all the way forward. Makes sense when you see it. The utilities are very easy hookups. There are multiple sewer hookups you can't miss. Wi-Fi is good with more than one hot-spot. If one bogs down, switch to another. Cable was very good with clear pictures and lots of channels. This park is obviously well managed and the utilities' convenience show it.
This park is typical Arizona, sand and rocks. There aren't grass and flowers here, but they do their best to keep their trees flourishing with auto-irrigation. The trees are welcome. This is a clean and neat park, maintained by a staff that are busy all day cleaning and tidying around the sites.
One unique feature I've never seen before is that the park is dissected by two Holbrook city streets. The park is annexed into Holbrook. They have city services, even lighting and police, but also two city roads: wide, asphalt, named and signed roads that turn the park into three sections. People drive the roads as they go about their lives in Holbrook. It is not terribly busy, nor dangerous or a distraction, but look both ways .
The bathrooms and showers are dated but very clean and functional. This isn't the Ritz but much of the wear in the bathroom is actually from daily scrubbing for years, as well as use. The fixtures could be updated but nothing that would prevent you from using the bathrooms or showers today; we did.
This is a very nice park, well run, and cared for by a husband and wife team that really put their hearts into making your stay all that you want it to be...not what they say it should be. I can't imagine anyone being unhappy about this park as their choice.

Good Overnight Stop

This was an overnight stop for us traveling from Aztec, NM to Apache Junction, AZ. The park has long gravel pull throughs with concrete patios. The sites are fairly narrow but there was no one next to us so it was not a problem. The WiFi was good. We did not use the available cable service so I cannot comment on that.

The wind was really blowing while we were there. Also trains come through all night and although in the distant you can hear the whistles. If you are a light sleeper this might not be good but I sleep like a rock. With the location of the train tracks, I would not imagine that anywhere in Holbrook would not hear the trains.

The staff is very friendly and helpful.

OK RV Park, Holbrook, AZ

Easy on/off I-40 and makes a good overnight stop.Certainly nothing fancy, but certainly OK. The pull throughs are 100' long, hard-packed dirt, narrow and level. Pull through sites have two hook ups and rows alternate even/odd, so that your entry faces your neighbors. You share a concrete slab with 2 tables on it with your neighbor. There are a lot of trees, and some sites would have shade in the afternoon if you wanted shade. Very convenient, multiple sewer dump receptacles at every site. This is a nice touch. Showers were roomy, with a large dressing area. There was a nice laundry, although we did not use it. The park was quiet. The staff was courteous and efficient. Took me less than 5 minutes to check in. We camped here in a 5th wheel.
