Not worth the effort
We were looking for an overnight stop in Williams and had stayed here a couple of times before. Called their number, recording told me to call another number, held 15 minutes. Finally got a person after several recorded messages about the train. Gave my name, address, all phone numbers, number & kind of pets, email address, etc. Had to spell everything, even though she was looking at all of my info in computer. Too hard to make an overnight reservation. Not worth the trouble for big parking lot, unless you want to board your dog and ride the train. We'll stay somewhere else.
Impressive
Clean parking area. Wonderful showers. Nice staff. Kids enjoyed the indoor pool and hot tub. Tables at each site.
We took the basic train car for the day to the canyon. They attendant in the train have us information and history as we traveled. Singers can thru.
We would stay there again.
Excellent
This is a very clean pleasant park. Everyone is friendly and helpful. This includes park staff, town folk, and train and bus tour staff. I highly recommend Williams as a destination point.
I would say that it is not necessary to spend the extra on the dome cars on the train as views are great in all cars. If you like to eat light I suggest bringing your own packed lunch and taking a bus tour is not necessary if in good physical health as there are free shuttles when hike the rim on your own.
We took advantage of the special offering 3 nights stay for the cost of 2. We stayed 6 nights.
Nice town
Stayed there two nights. Ok parking lot. Better town
Five Star Resort
This is a great place with all the amenities…wonderful restrooms with huge and hot showers…a bit overpriced if we did not have our club card…level, good size sites…if you are ever planning to see the Grand Canyon, this is the place to stay and then ride the train to the South Rim for a really fun experience.
We used our Camp Club USA and paid $22.
Be sure to check out the deal packages they offer when you ride the train to the Grand Canyon.
