Clean, reasonable price, and friendly

In the middle of nowhere but convenient to I40 and a days easy drive to Albuquerque. Very helpful and friendly staff. Clean park with store and gas station. Gravel parking but pretty level; nice trees.

Starman phones home

If you’re a fan of sci fi, they filmed the final scene of Starman with Jeff Bridges and Karen Allen at this location.

We have stayed here 2 times in the past and it is nice to see that the park is still nice. We have stayed here once to see the Crater with our boys and twice passing through on the 40 frwy.

Check is was easy and the manager was informative and friendly. We were able to have the pick of the place because of the time of the year we were there. They reminded us about our Good Sam membership and they also gave us some ideas for sights to see in Winslow. We were planning to go there so we could get some photos of us and our HD at the famous spot from the Eagles.

The gates close at night but, we were able to get in with no problem when we returned from our excursions.
The park has a store in the office for some essentials you might need. The restrooms were clean and everything worked properly as well as the utilities at our space. We had no problem getting a satellite and Verizon signal.

We always make it a point to stop here during our travels on the 40 frwy (route 66).

We have been full time RVer’s since I retired and because of my background I tend to do my research on places we stay all across America (Google Earth, Good Sam, KOA and this RV Review web site and it’s reviewers have been a big help). We have a 40 ft. rig (my 28 ft. RV pulls my 12 ft. garage that carries my HD so I prefer Pull Thru’s). We look for Locations close to our reason for being there, Accessibility for our rig, Park Appeal (inviting and not run down or the look of Meth Labs), Parks that enforce their noise and pet rules, Amenities, Good accessible and working Hook Ups, We have our own Internet source so we don’t care about Park Wifi and we have a satellite so we look for no overhanging trees. It is all about just how comfortable you can make R'ving fun an enjoyable.

Meteor Crater site

Good site to stop off at as you blast down the I40... Literally right on the same turn off as the Meteor Crater site and has a gas station attached where you can fill up. Bathrooms are very good and each one has a personal changing area with toilet, sink and shower which is great.

Our favorite RV Park of a 6 week trip, and we had no problem getting in after hours.

This is a lovely, very well kept, and clean park. We stayed 2 nights and got in at 1:30 am August 2013. We had called ahead for a reservation and they told us how to get in after hours. It was very dark so maybe the others that reviewed the park couldn't find the late night access. We pulled in, stepped out of our RV and looked up. What a sky, shooting stars and all! We fell in love with this park and the kids want to go out of the way to stay here again. I have kids aged 18 -21. Quiet, restrooms were really clean, well set up, and well maintained. The gift shop in the dome had great convenience foods, along with staples, and nice T-shirts. I highly recommend this park.

Really Nice Park

Very nice, well laid-out park. Office workers friendly and helpful. The roomy sites & road are well kept gravel with nice (but small) cooling green grassy areas throughout the park. Trees are placed in the front of each site so shade where the tables are is limited for some of the sites. Showers (like private bathrooms) are very clean. Didn't do any laundry so can't comment, although many were using the clean facilities. Price very reasonable for what to get. We choose just water & electricity - sites including sewer a bit more. Would return for sure ! Marked this as a favorite!

Clean/convenient but don't be late

Right off freeway, but no freeway noise. Gates close at 8pm. Check in at gas station. Staff friendly, restrooms clean, private showers. Spacious sites with picnic table. Would definitely recommend/come back.

Gated community

We like to check out RV parks before we commit, but this park has a wall around it and a gate which can only be opened for access by the office. I assume that if you check in, they give you a password, but it really put me off.
The roads and sites are gravel. The bathrooms are 4 all-in-ones (shower, toilet and sink) and the showers even have sliding glass doors. There are trees, but they have a way to go before providing much shade. There is a table at each site but no fire pit. It is close enough to I40 that you can see the highway.
We decided to go to Homolovi State Park just down the road near Winslow instead.

Minutes from the crater

Extremely close to the Meteor Crater and Flagstaff. Lots of Route 66 sites close by and several national parks within an hour away.

Staff was Professional, but not personable. Great view of the San Francisco Mountain peaks, a few trees on the sites. Interstate 40 close by but we could not hear anything.

We paid $24 a night for two nights for electric and water only, pull-through site. Nice bathrooms. Had to let the hot water run for quite awhile, but it does eventually turn hot.

Sites were a little short and a picnic table at each site. Had to squeeze the van in. Very small playground. Clubhouse with large TV and foosball table.

Decently maintained. Expensive laundry facilities, no library, wifi was OK.

This park worked well for us because it was decent, moderately priced and close to the Meteor Crater and the Petrified Forest National Park. It was too cold to play outside. We did see an amazing sunset here.
