Okay for the Nite

Dirt lot, FHUs, basic cable, WiFi ok. Narrow patio cement pad is nice, picnic table. Quiet. Didn?t use facilities. Manager and help very friendly, escort to you site and explain all hook ups. Crammed in. No other amenities. At Good Sam Rate of $36 it?s no bargain. Would expect to normal rate to be $25, max $30.

Great spot to stop for the night

Close to expressways, easy in and out, full hookups with free WiFi, great customer service (thanks Daniel) and a real bargain at $40, especially in CA. Good Sam discount on top of that!

This park is just okay for an overnight stop

Old, run down, and in the middle of nowhere. But in a pinch, this park is okay for an overnight. The "mature" owner is behind the times. Cash or check only. Does give a Good Sam & military discount. If you need WiFi, you need to pay $5/day on-line to the local service. He also charges extra for 50 amp. This park is too expensive for what you get. (But then again, it is California!) The best thing about this park is that it is dead silent. I did get a great night's sleep.

Lovely Classic RV Park

The Restrooms were very clean. The foliage was spectacular, the grounds maintenance was superb. It was quiet and restful. Everyone was super friendly. It is what a overnight traveling cross country should be like. I highly recommend it.

OK

We have a 40 foot motorhome and a tow car. We payed $31.00 and stayed one night. Jim was the person who checked us in and he was friendly and personable. Our spot and all the spots we saw had a slab you could step out of your rig onto but the rest of the spot was dirt. Working in the dirt with your sewer and water hose etc is no fun if you like to keep your stuff clean. The sewer connection had a large cast iron 90 degree entry hook-up which you could only stick your 90 degree sewer pipe end into and it would not screw in so you had to go find a large rock (Jim's instruction's when I called him about it) to hold it in place. It was a nasty business that leaked a little and when I disconnected there was you know what all over the outside end of my 90 degree connection that had to be cleaned off. In addition to that any water that is spilled on the ground instantly turns into mud which clings to your pipe and hoses and there is no way to clean it off as everything is dirt and your slab on the other side of your rig has no water hose. I thought about using the picnic table close by the hookups but after I looked at the table I noticed that others had been using it for cleaning up and there was caked on material that was definitely "you know what" on the bench and table top. Disgusting. It's really too bad because this is such a good location on Highway 15, just south of Las Vegas which is great for those of us who do not want to stay in the "Las Vegas beehive". If they would put down some gravel over the dirt around the rental spots and change those cast iron 90's on the sewer connections? We liked Jim but we probably would not stay there again

Excellent

We were tired and very stressed out. May was wonderful and assured us a sight ...no credit card required as they do not accept them anyway. We arrived after dark and Jim (owner) guided us into our sight, gave us chocolates and a very quite safe place to spend the night. I wish all parks were as friendly. As new to the RV experience I certainly appreciated the time and staff at Shady Lane.

Friendliest park EVER

I gave it a 4 because of the terrific staff. We did an overnight with a 40' rig towing and had everything we needed and more. Didn't need to unhook. They ARE big rig capable. Not fancy - just nice.

Pleasant surprise

Old park, but nice. Very friendly and helpful hosts. We just needed an overnight place and this was just right. This place has a few perm residents in some really run-down units, but that was not really a problem. This place advertises that it is the only RV Park in Barstow that does not have highway or railroad noise. They didn't lie. This place was very quiet and peaceful. Several nice restaurants in the area. Good laundry and shower facilities and they keep the place nice and clean. Actually we stayed there for 1 night again on our return trip. They remembered us and gave us the same spot again. Nice long pull-thrus. The place filled up completely both nights. I would recommend it to anyone for a nice overnight or a couple of nights stop. We camped in our motorhome.
