It?s KOA Palm Springs/Joshua Tree

The KOA Palm Springs/Joshua Tree is great for families and dog friendly. All sites are full hookups, gravel and my reserved site was actually 2 large sites combined to make 1 humongous site. The site was surrounded by 6 foot Oleander bushes for privacy. There is no satellite or cable hookups, but a quick channel scan gave me 43 local channels. The hosts and staff were very nice and they were telling me they were putting in a bike park sometime next year for campers. In the meantime, the hosts let me take my dog off leash in the future, fenced in, bike park area. There is also a large dog park on-site with two different sides, for social and non-social dogs. The staff was also very aware of non-residents who clearly were not staying at the KOA. The staff was at the pool within a minute of two people sneaking in to swim (they were obviously meth addicts) and when they couldn?t prove they were residents, they were told to leave. That kind of attentiveness and awareness by staff made me feel very safe during our stay. The spring fed pool was pretty big and the water was great. My family and I made time every day to spend an hour or two at the pool. The 3 hot spring fed jacuzzis were closed due do Covid. Also closed was the billiards and air hockey room. The cafe at the pool was open, with limited hours. My youngest child loved the play structure on-site. The miniature golf and bike rentals were very cool also. FYI, there?s a Costco, Vons & Stater Brothers grocery store within 10 minutes of this KOA. This KOA was a great jumping-off point for all of the regional attractions. We went to Joshua Tree National Park, The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens, the Palm Springs Aerial Tram and the Dinosaur Museum during our stay. The only down side of this particular KOA is that it gets windy. It?s a warm wind and it?s not every day, but it got pretty gusty a few days we were there, so we couldn?t put out the awning for shade and our table items would get blown all around our campsite.
