A great find near the coast, and sonoma wine country!

This is a great campground - close to the Pacific Coast, and nestled in the Russian River Valley. Sonoma wine country nearby (Korbel is just down the road). Redwood forests (some on the property). There is a seal colony at the coast.

The park offers a store, kids activities, farm animals, hayrides, lots of water activities (1 mile of riverfront), and organized activities.

Updates are taking place - like new ADA bathrooms (very nice), rental RVs, and electrical upgrades.

The big charm of this park is the historical aspect. In the Casini family for over 100 years, with a historical barn still on site, it has a an old west, great family friendly feel.

Bottom line - there are lots of ways to stay entertained here.

Great place to enjoy the wine country!

What a great find! We loved this campground. The staff was very nice over the phone, and also during checkout and in the store.

We rented a pull through full hook up site 121 and our friends booked 122. They pulled in the opposite way so we were able to have a big common space between us. Sites are nice and VERY spacious, and included a fire-pit and picnic table, but are not very level, and not so private.

A lot of tent sites and other RV sites as well. This place is pretty big and spread out. The 2 sites down by the lake would be great for 2 groups traveling together, but had no sewer hook up and quite noisy on Fridays and Saturdays because of the river traffic.

We had other friends who booked a "cabin". It's not a typical cabin, but more of a 12x12 tool shed. No electricity, no water, just a double bed and bunks. The double bed has a very thin plastic mattress pad, which our friends said was uncomfortable. The cabin is also not insulated, so they found it cold at night. For the price they paid $70 a night, it's not worth it.

Internet connection is really spotty, dropping off all the time and there is no cell phone reception except for Verizon (we had AT&T)

River access is great, and the location of the campground is wonderful. We would all stay here again, as there is so much to see and do!

Casini Ranch Family Campground

Just drove through to scope this place out. It's beautifully tucked away on the edge of the Russian River, surrounded by big rolling hills and gorgeous scenery. Verizon phone and internet would not work so well. Not sure if they have wifi. Great place to get away from it all - not much for convenience or shopping.

RVing on the Russian River (California Wine Country)

We spend two weeks every year at Casini Ranch as it is a very Family Friendly campgrounds. The campground is set right on the Russian River where you can spend the day dipping your toes in the water. There is Free WiFi and cable tv, level sites and some with concrete patios fire pits on all sites. We enjoy that this is a pet friendly campground and I believe every camper has at least one dog. All dogs are on leash except in the dog park area. You can fish in the river or play baseball on the baseball field. Volleyball at the net or spend time in the arcade. If that isn't enough it is only a 15 minute drive to the Pacific Ocean and the little coastal town of Bodega Bay. It's a place to look at http://www.casiniranch.com is the site address so take a little time and check it out.
