We lived it here so peaceful and well maintained
No place to dump
Knew we were stopping so I let the tank get full. No problem. We?ll dump in the AM. When the shower backed up I knew it was time. Unfortunately this campground didn?t have any place to dump. Mgr. said California stopped letting rvs dump into a leach field but it?s the first I have heard.
And the internet was capped at 200 MB. No bandwidth for video. Barely any for pics. I got thru my email and was out. Not great reception on AT&T or T-Mobile. Makes campground internet mandatory. Limped by with my Sprint device. I could have just stayed in a rest stop for the amenities.
And the playground was directly behind our site. A diesel semi running all night next to us might have been less annoying then all those kids.
I assume the river was on the end of the park but it couldn?t be seen from the site. There is a trail down to it but it?s gravel and rough like the rest of the park.
It was very quiet for a site just off the highway. Oddly Waze took us to Boy Scout road instead of correctly turning on Meyers rd. Less a road than a rutted path, be careful with your directions.
There seems to be a fire up here somewhere as the air was smokey. But that may be unrelated to the park this one of year.
We loved our stay here. Nice views and great river access. So quiet and relaxing. Very clean bathrooms. I got sick the day we were to leave and they were kind to find us a site we could move to and stay in till I recovered. We would stay here again.
No more passport here! Rate for water and electric with good Sam $36, highway robbery but we were tired, poor layout, not big rig friendly, choose another
Relaxing in the redwoods
Great RV Park looking forward to staying longer next time thy are improving and upgrading while we where there but never bothered us we love to see that we stayed in site 49 water and power no sewer at that site when I go back I would try for site 44 pull-in and have large redwood trees right in front of our motor coach windshield.
Very friendly staff and very nice Bathrooms (handy-cap) WiFi and cable TV, it is a little over priced at $45.00 for our liking but considering it is in California not-to-bad.
I give it a 4 Star for the way we like RV Parks.

Nice Quite campground
This is a nice quite campground on the eel river in the middle of the Ave of the Giants. New owners now have the park and have been fixing it up nicely. New bath houses, new fire pits, new picnic tables, etc. Office staff was very helpful. Would stay again.
Giant Redwoods RV and Camp
I give this campground 5 stars!!! Bathrooms and showers are all new, and our host Peg was just wonderful. It was quiet and you get the most beautiful view of the night sky. It is also just minutes from the Avenue of the Giants where some of the largest trees can be found. We would definitely recommend this campground to friends, and we will be staying here again in the future.
The Beauty and the Beast
This is family run campground is along the Eel River on the Avenue of the Giants in the heart of the redwoods. Tent sites are on the river. Pull through full hook ups are behind the tent sites on one side of the park under big trees, and the partials are on the other side of the park under the redwoods. There are bushes that separate each of the full hook up sites.
The beast: a nice young couple has inherited this park and are trying to keep it going. They are facing an uphill battle. This park has survived several floods that have ravaged the area over the years and there is still evidence of damage. The primary problem is the bathrooms. There are two sets of bathroom/showers. One is potentially a health hazard in its current condition. The other is as clean as it can be, although damage is such that it should be torn down and replaced. The laundry part of this shower house is permanently closed. The nearest laundromat is several miles away. Both the voltage and the water pressure at our site varied throughout the day.
The beauty: the campground has its own beach and many campers were enjoying swimming in the river (who needs a pool?) The redwoods are beautiful and Myer's Flat is centrally located on the Avenue.
The rates are a little steep for what this campground has to offer. Getting the AAA discount puts it in line with others in the area, although the AAA recommendation is questionable until the bathroom situation is solved.
The owners have a potentially highly rated campground. If they can conquer the beast of the bathrooms, they just might win the war....that is if Mother Nature doesn't flood them out again.
We will camp here again. We camped here in a 5th wheel.
