Miss Managed
This place was once a fishing and camping dream. Those days are long gone. The so called new management has this plase so messed up your bill differs each month. They tax you then they don't have to. No body who works here (and that consistantly changes) knows for sure what to do. They have ran off all of there business from the fishing clubs which would have been very lucrative. I am told by long time snowbirds that the restaurant use to be sooo much better with an assortment of deserts and the many items on the Friday nigjt buffet. Nothing like that now. Food is hit and miss at best. Roads, pads and driveways are badly in need of repair. We were there one month and the rent was raised 8% on top of that they are implementing a (descretionary resort tax) of $28 which they don't have to charge but it is only supposed to be 1% according to Osceola couty law. Wonder whose realy getting this tax. Also a sales tax of 7% (should be 6%) if any. Should be included in the outragous rent in the first place. Will be looking for a new location!
Nice place
Stayed a month here and was very pleased with everything except the airboat noise. But it was only during the day and the nights were very quiet.
The staff were very pleasant and helpful.
Also, you may be surprised by the sales tax on the rental. Mine was approx 13% making the rent 482.
Revitalized Resort
In 2012, "East Lake Fish Camp" got a face lift. With a new management husband and wife team, the new "Boggy Creek Resort & RV Park" is poised for success. With the restaurant, store, bath houses, pool, RV sites, and cabins getting remodeled or refaced, you can't miss. Even the website is all new! The Resort is set on the very north shore of beautiful East Lake Toho . East Lake is famous for its world class bass fishing and air boat rides. The surrounding area is flush with wild life and protected old oaks. Just a gorgeous area all around.
I have held a permanent residence here for over 6 years and it's never been better - and it just keeps getting better. The restaurant got a new name (Sunset Grille & Bar at Boggy Creek) and a menu make over. It's as good if not better than any restaurant in the area. The high quality and variety keeps me coming back often!
I highly recommend Boggy Creek Resort & RV Park to everyone. The facility, amenities, and people here are just plain terrific. Oh, and don't forget the amazing fishing!!
