So inconsiderate!!!!
We called in advance and asked about availability. We told them our electrical was not working and we would be using our generator. She said okay so we drove over an hour and half in the rain to get there. It was dark and we had trouble seeing so she led the way. When we finally got to the spot it was very muddy and since we have a 40' motorhome, we questioned whether we would get stuck. We were told to drive fast over the mud- really in a 40'- wondering what planet she was on! Then we turned on the generator and off the engine- and were told we could not stay! She said the generator was too loud and she had kids in the park that had to go to school the next day and it would disturb their sleep! No consideration for us for driving all across the Florida panhandle in the rain and it was 8:30 PM. Luckily for us there was another really nice park just off the interstate that welcomed us. Now we had stayed in two other parks the previous nights that were top notch resorts but this was a "white trailer park trash" outfit and would never stay or recommend it!!!!
Good for an overnight
Easy to get into and out of. Stayed for one night. No paved pads. Had to go over grass to site.
Nice, but the least friendly employees we ever met
This is a nice campground just north of Lake City. But the people employed by the park were the least friendly we ever met. Most people wave and smile when going around on their carts, but these people seemed to snarl, like everyone had a bad day. That just left a bad taste for us. The spots were good and the shower / toilet facilities were OK. WiFi was fine. Not a bad place to stay, but don't expect friendly.
A very nice experience!
We have camped from Maine to Florida and stayed in many campgrounds including State, National, and private campgrounds. This is one of our favorite campgrounds. You can't have everything, and no campground can be all things to all people, but Lake City Campground has a lot to offer. Easy to get to just 1 mile from I-10 and easy to get in and out of. Nice level lots, full hookups, and a very nice and well maintained pool. Close to everything, but far enough away to be quiet and countrified! We've stayed here 3 times and are planning on coming back. We REALLY like this park. Clean grounds, restrooms and showers and laundry, well maintained and they allow pets too!
