Perfect... as always!
We've stayed at this park on multiple occasions, and it's always a favorite!
Most of the sites feel quite private surrounded by the Florida hammocks. It's amazing that you're so close to town (you can walk right into surrounding neighborhoods), but yet you feel so out in nature.
It's an easy walk to the beach, and there is onsite rentals of sail boats and kayaks. There's even a beach grill and campstore. You're only a quick drive into the touristy part of St. Augustine, and the lighthouse is visible from the beach overlooks.
Our electric outlet blew a breaker when we plugged into it.. and once we reported it, we had 3 rangers show right up to fix it (even before we could get back to our site!). Excellent and friendly customer service!
As always, we leave feeling like we should have booked a longer stay!
Our Verizon and AT&T devices all received happy 3G signals.
Anastasia State Park
I had site #48 and would request it again when I return. This was a beautiful park: clean and very well maintained. The roads were smooth enough to rollerblade on and the beach was within walking distance. While the park was booked solid at this time of year, it never seemed crowded. The road coming in to the park offered great opportunities to view shorebirds. Every site seemed to offer enough privacy and space, and there was a friendly, neighborly vibe. Within 10 minutes from the historic part of town, this park is ideally situated. From what I learned of other options in the area, this is definately the best place to stay. No dogs allowed on the beach, though. My Verizon USB modem and cell phone worked fairly well here.
Loved this place
We camped in site 70 in this park and would have stayed longer if we could have. There are 2 sections to the park; we stayed in the Coquina loop, which is very shady and has secluded campsites. It is just a short walk to the ocean. There are sites very close to the ocean. The other loop is very open with only palm trees for 'shade'. There are a couple of washers and dryers outside the bath house. We loved it here.

Maximum RV length = 40 ft
Sites are located in the hammock forest, away from blowing sand and salt spray, but most are within easy bicycling or walking distance from the beach. Hammock plants provide visual privacy between most sites, which vary from 10 feet to 40 feet.
