Rustic

Stayed one night in pull through site early November. Sites are paved. Shower facilities not very nice. Standing water throughout park. Narrow road ways and turns. Wooded. Very friendly staff. Deer visits early morning and evening. Rustic. Office closes at 5:00. Gated. Need code to get in after closing.

On the shores of Pontchartrain

This lovely state park was once part of a plantation. In fact, the remains of the old sugar mill still stand. We camped in the 'old campground'; lovely wide sites, all paved. The new bathhouse has beautiful tiled showers. The only problem is that they don't have a shelf to put your soap and shampoo or your bottom to get dressed.
It's a 5 minute walk to the shore. All the roads are paved as well. Each site has a table, barbecue, and fire ring. Heavy rain last night and sites 99 to 103 are under water. We are in 140 and all around us is high and dry. Sites 25 to 48 are unimproved (no electric and water).
