City park with lots of space
This large city park is right on Lake Palourde. Sites are scattered with lots of grass area between sets of sites. Sites 63 to 74 are on the levee overlooking the marina and are great for boat and people watching; sites 52 to 62 re just behind the lievee. Sites 43 to 51 are along a canal. Sites 108 to 131 overlook the lake as well. An additional 52 sites were added after the last bad storm, but they are right next to the road and there is a lot of road noise.
We are told it is very busy on weekends. You can stay for a month in Jan, Feb, & March. There are only 3 showers in each restroom (there is another 1 over in the tenting area). The showers are nicely tiled but there is no place to put your clothes.
Don't rely on your GPS to find it; ours said we had 7 more miles to go when we got to the park.
