Great for smaller RV's
Even though it was after Labor Day, we had reserved a spot for 2 days in the campground. We extended it by 1 day when we checked in and were told that that was a good idea because they figured to be full on the third day. We had a wonderful level, drive-through site. The sites are narrower than most state parks, and they assign the sites at the entrance so you don’t have a choice. There are no hookups, but there are water spigots scattered throughout the park. There is a free and frequent shuttle bus that takes you around the National Park and into Bar Harbor. Bathrooms were fine but no showers. If you want a shower, there are pay ones just outside the campground. We attended the evening program, walked the trail down to the ocean, and explored the park. For us, that took 3 days.
