A seaside gem
We've stayed here a few times now and love this seaside gem. Sites range from open shoreside to shaded back from the shore. All sites are large. NOTE: Despite what the listing here says, there is no electricity. No hookups at all so you'll be dry camping. But don't let that deter you. Staff is friendly and helpful. Sites are clean and park is well-kept.
It's about 5-6 miles into Freeport and the stores and is bike-able along South Freeport Road with a couple of small hills. Portland and its attractions are 20 minutes away along either Route 1 or 295.
Bonus: You're only a couple of miles from the Harraseeket Lobster Company, a dockside spot for . . . well, of course . . . lobster. Their lobster rolls are the best along the coast. Other seafood dishes available. And their lobster prices are more than reasonable so you can but some and cook back on your site. In fact, on our last trip we had lobster for dinner at our shore side site cheaper than our sandwiches for lunch in Freeport.
