Camden Hills State Park

Just want to clairfy these reviews. Camden has showers/ dump station/ shady sites and sites in the field for big campers. The state of Maine also has in September (specific date changes every year around the 12 where no reservations are taken and priced dropped quite a bit. Have camped there for the last 30 years and the last time a year ago. They have added some electric sites and the price went up to reflect that. Great place to camp though.

Camden, a fine place but limited for RVs

Led a group of 17 RVs for a weekend at Camden Hills. The surroundings of the park are perfect and the park has wonderful staff and trails but not all RV sites are level enough. The sites in the field are fine and the woodsy sites may be good but look it over first. If you like to hike, this is your place. Should you prefer the treasures of Camden, Rockland and Lincolnville they are splendid for RV explorations. Camden can get a bit close for larger RVs but Rockland has plenty of room especially off season in September. Everyone in our group discovered Maine in their own way. Next year we will do island explorations.

Great for Us

We got a space in the field area closest to the road rather than back under the trees. Great for early September and great for leveling. People in the woods had a harder time getting level. We had a view of the ocean from our campsite; it was great to sit out in our chairs and watch the ocean. The park is within walking distance to Camden, which is the quintessential New England town. The view from on top of Mt. Battie (in the park) was fabulous. RV hookups provide electricity and water and there is a dump station in the park. Showers and bathrooms were very nice; received rave reviews from our group.
