Finger Lakes State Park

Have stayed here a couple of times on cross country road trips. About 10 miles north of I-70 near Columbia, MO. Its a small campground. Some sites may not be level. We stayed on one with electricity water hook ups. There is a dump station. Bath house is basic with 3-4 showers. Its quiet and reasonable to stay here.

Undiscovered jewel

Very nice gravel sites, level, large sites with lots of grass and mature trees. Lakes for fishing and nice swimming beach. We were here in 5 th wheel in July 2012 when temperatures were in high 90's. Very few 50amp sites, so be sure to get reservation as soon as possible. Camp host at site 14 checks you in and is very helpful. Only 15 minutes University of Missouri, a beautiful campus.

An ATV park

This is one of 2 ATV parks in the MO state park system. It has a very interesting history; it was a Peabody Coal Co open coal mine in the 60s and then was converted to a state park. The coal pits are now full of water and have been connected by canals, so you can canoe or kayak through them.
We were there in November, so the showers were locked, but there were 2 vault toilets available. About half the sites are electric and, from April through October, there is water available at faucets throughout the campground.
The sites are paved, but most of them need leveling. You pay less if you are over 65 and/or it is off season.
