Branched Oak Lake State Recreation Area

BEWARE OF PRICES!!!!

We pulled into this campground to spend a day exploring the area. This park is 30 min outside Lincoln & very secluded. If you want quiet this is a great place.
It had no one at entrance so we picked up our envelope to pay & looked for an area with elec hook-up. We found a building open so stopped I. For info & a map. The lady was nice. Told us the daily fee was $20.00 & the vehicle access pass fee would be $8.00. She knew we were I. A motorhome. She directed us to an area & said once we got parked to come back with sure # & pay her. We did that. When we paid she added an additional $8.00 fee for our motorhome. When we questioned it she said it?s because it has an engine so it?s also a vehicle! We asked if the 5th wheels or trailers pay that fee she said no!!
I called to district headquarters to complain about this policy plus the fact it?s not mentioned anywhere I can find. They simply say it?s Nebraska State Park policy.
So unless you are ok paying $36.00 a nite to stay in an elec only a day I?d advise you to go someplace else!!
