This is the real Grants KOA

I've read the previous reviews. I can't believe they were at this park. In fact the reviews seem a little loose and not very coherent.
This is a great KOA, and I've been at KOA's that missed the mark. It started at the office and staff. We had reservations, check in was easy. The staff was very helpful. There was even a treat for our dog and cookies for us.
The office and store are very clean, neat, and well stocked with rv supplies, groceries, and interesting souvenirs.
The grounds are neat-as-a-pin and obviously well maintained, lots of KOA yellow and all shiny clean.
This is a small park all hard packed gravel. The sites are long and level pull throughs. Utilities are well placed and convenient. Wi-Fi was good till the park filled to almost max, then slowed. Cable was very good, clear with many channels. The sites are a little close but not too bad, room for a picnic table and chairs.
This part of New Mexico is very High'n Dry and grass is a struggle. This park has done a great job at desert landscaping with prairie grasses, small flowers and shrubs that survive in this arid climate. They also are bringing along trees with lots of watering. This park looks as nice as it can surrounded by rocks and lava flows.
The bathrooms are older and rather small but very comfortable and obviously well cleaned. The showers looked very clean also. All the facilities looked newly painted and inviting.
As nice as this park is, there is yet another surprise, home cooked meals are available. The hosts cook a dinner meal in their own kitchen. There is a small menu, you can order and have it delivered to your site. We ordered turkey dinner with all the trimmings, delivered. It was a fun treat and not too expensive.
I'm not sure who the other reviewers met. The owner/managers here are a husband and wife team, two of the nicest KOA-ers I have met in a lot of years of full-timing. The maintenance "crew" is a really great Spanish man who took the time to explain to me about the Spanish exploration of this area and when Coronado encountered these lava flows. This is a great KOA from beginning to end, and at the end the park is well lit and secure for a good night off the road.

Okay

Very friendly. Food is cooked by yourself ! Sandy roads , so dusty. Little green , flowers consumed by the sub-zero temperatures .

Ignore 2010 review

Nice park. Not many trees, but ladies that run place are very friendly and helpful. Review from 2010 not accurate now (if it ever was...). This is our 4th. stay here over the last 3-4 yrs. and will stay here whenever we come thru here.

Look elsewhere

Wifi and cable did not work. Manager was extremely rude. They do not women unless you are ready to bow and scrape. Go on down the road or boondock!
