3 night stop

We were visiting Bitter Lakes NWR and wanted somewhere convenient to stay. Trailer Village provided a level site, large enough for our 35 foot Bighorn 5th wheel with full 50 amp hook-up, all for $34 a night. The park isn't particularly attractive, all gravel and concrete, but it was clean and well maintained. We were shown to our site and generally the staff were helpful and courteous. The wi-fi was not very good but no worse than most other sites we has visited. Showers/ toilets were adequate. I will certainly be staying again next time I visit Roswell.

Good Overnight

Stayed here on our way to Albuquerque. Nice level sites. A little close to neighbors, but ok. Lady in the front office as very nice and helpful. Suggested a Mexican Restaurant in town that we did eat at. Good food. Would sop here again. M

OK, but (1) pay cash & (2) take your own water

The owners are nice & friendly. The park is OK for the desert (dirt, a little grass, a few pretty plants). Although there are a lot of people living there, we did not hear pickups starting at 5 or 6 am, as we have in other parks.
Be aware, though, that:
(1) They charge extra for paying with a credit card ($3/day!), and
(2) The water is horribly hard & leaves hard water stains on everything. The best idea is to fill up your fresh water tank before arrival.
I believe they also charge extra for 50 amp service. When you call for rates, ask about everything that might be an extra charge.

Not a Good Place to Stay

Coming out of North Dakota on a 1300-mile trip south, we planned our trip well, with all intermediate stops. After leaving Dodge City Kansas, our next stop took us to Roswell, NM. We had discussed two different RV parks located there, and had agreed on going with Trailer Village RV Park over another.

When we called ahead, we were told that if we gave our credit card number, they could reserve us a lot. We did so, and unexpectedly, had a fuel-pump failure on our tow vehicle in the middle of nowhere Texas. We called as soon as we could get a signal to let Trailer Village know we might not arrive until midnight, or later. They told us, that if we can't be there by 10pm, that they would see us the next day. We asked about our credit card hold. They said that we could pay for another day if we needed it.
I did the fuel pump repair, and we just wrote it off, staying in Tucumcari that night. We arrived the next day.

We pulled in to Trailer Village around mid-day the next day, and explained we had mechanical problems, but that we needed that lot now. For the next 20-minutes, we get a run around about 'we don't know if we have a lot for you'. Funny, I thought I reserved that lot last night, until today? Oh, yeah, right - he says, and shuffles meanless papers as I look outside and see half their lots empty.

With a Good Sams placard on their desk, I ask about membership discounts. They say 'we are a member park, but we won't run it through like that, we can give you a better rate on the side' - charging $200 for a week's stay, the same as their standard rate. I didn't catch that until day 2.

He gives us our lot assignment finally, I drive to it, and it is a 5-percent grade! What happened to leveled lots? Only the center lots are 'leveled'. If you are towing and not driving a pusher, you are getting unleveled grass that gets muddy when it rains.

I backed in, leveled (after having to borrow a 10-inch stack of wood to get there), and connected - noticing the two mounds of fire ants at the rear of the trailer. I walk back up, mention these to him, ask if he can spray for them, since they are fire ants. He argues that 'there are no fire ants in New Mexico', and that he's had a problem with ants, and will spray tomorrow. I go back, use my own boric acid powder on them, and finish connecting - so I think. I try the cable connection on both TV's in the RV - neither pick up a channel. I walk back up again, he argues that the connection works. I reply, well it has for 10-years, but doesn't in your park suddenly (after it worked in Dodge City Kansas, no less).

Two days later, after I found that I didn't get a discount, I now have fire ants in my RV (I'm from Texas, and know what a fire ant is), I get so angry I tell my wife, let's just go to another park. She is angry, goes up and wants her remaining rent back for the rest of the un-discounted week. SORRY, no refunds. We pull out within the hour. We went to another park in town, paid for a day, and got some rest. We ended up staying two weeks.

Trailer Village RV Park is a scam beyond any reason. There are other sites that ALSO have bad reviews on this park, but I find it interesting that 'good reviews' are posted above NEWER reviews. This is NOT serving unsuspecting RV'ers who end up losing a few hundred dollars to these two park owners (husband and wife) who are only out for the money. I don't mind paying, if the service is there with it. I could have done better just paying someone to park it in their yard, than this. We won't even talk about the dairy barn nearby. I grew up on a farm, and that would STILL take your breath if the wind is right.

I didn't ask them for a single favor - just business-level-service, and they miserably failed. There are two other parks in town that both are EXCELLENT, compared to this - Red Barn and Spring River. Check them both out first, before you think of this one.

Trailer Vge RV

We stayed at this park in July. Planned to stay overnight and due to car problems we were there two weeks waiting on repairs. Erin and Debbie were so courteous to us during our extended stay. WiFi was very good, TV cable very good and a good laundry. We highly recommend this park. Thank you Debbie, Erin and your staff for a nice park and for being so friendly and helpful to us.

Great Stay

This is the second time that we have visited/stayed at Trailer Village RV Park. Both times our stays have been great! Erin and Debbie are very nice and welcoming. They take the time to visit with thier guests, not just in the office, but around the park as well as they go about thier daily chores. The neat part is that they rembered us from our first stay in October and were great in accomodating us in June when we decided to stay an extra night. The park is clean and pet friendly with great amenities. The park is quiet and well kept and makes for an enjoyable evening stroll. The week we stayed in October was great and we enjoyed visiting with others that were staying in the park. Anytime that we travel to Roswell and stay it will be at the Trailer Village Rv Park. Kudos to Erin and Debbie for a great facility. Highly recommend this RV park as a great place to stay!!!!
