Seen Better

I wouldn't stay long but it is a layover spot for us. The restaurants with any decent reviews open at 5pm. Our site that would give us wifi was not level but what the heck, one night won't kill us.

Recent Visit

Due to a change in our travel plans, we ended up driving along I-80 and stopped in Wendover for the night. We only stayed overnight and I am not sure I would have wanted to stay longer.

The RV park was very empty during our stay, only six other RVs were onsite that night. The space we stay at was quiet, not near other RVs, and offered full hookups. The WiFi did not function well.

Wendover is a dusty, rocky, desert place and this campground is not hiding this. There was no grass anywhere and the gravel throughout the campground did not throw much dust around.

The playground was excellent; our kids play in it for a long time. The pool was closed for the winter and the store looked sparse.

I would have giving our stay three stars, but this is the second most expensive RV park I have ever stayed. Our stay should have been $30-35 per night, but we paid $48! The resort that I paid more for had many more amenities. I could not help feel we were being charged higher because they were the only campground for *miles*.

Would I recommend this park? No. Will we come back? If we need a pit stop along I-80.

Not worth it

Went here after reading good reviews, big mistake. Cable is very snowy, Internet was spotty. Washing machines were half broken, I seriously thought it was going to blow. Dryers were ok, I used there shower facility, although it was clean they were broken down. I got in lathered up my hair and the knob broke while showering! Super hot water started coming out I could barely shut it off. I had to get out with shampoo and my towel and run into another stall! This wouldn't have been so bad if the showers were located in the women's restroom but they are not, they are connected to the office/store in the open. Would never come back. Staff didn't really seem to care as long as they got their money it was to bad to sad attitude. $45 for off season is crazy as well.

WHAT A RIP OFF!

This is our very last stay in a KOA, EVER! We have been traveling for five months through out the country trying to avoid KOA's for their typical run down, over priced parks. We have had a mechanical problem with our generator, unable to dry camp, and had to move to the closest park which is this park. The worst, and I mean the worst park ever. Filthy, rude, a lot of unsavoy people and the worst is they charged us double based on an event that is hours away. They claim they only had one 50 amp site and we were charged double for that site. As I look around there are other sites open, reserved for the weekend. We arrived on a Weds and will make this an overnight. We will not stay another minute and the corporate office will hear of our experiences with KOA's. This is the most depressing place I've ever seen.

KOA--need i say more

Very basic park. Pool was nice but could have used a cleaning. Compared to a mom/pop campwe used last night, it is about $15 too expensive.
After we checked in, manager lady came to tell me my two rooftop a/c's needed 50amp service! I was able to covince her that they do run on 30amps.

At least it has trees

We arrived at noon and saw a massive park with one RV. Immediately, we wondered if something was wrong. No, but now we understand why KOAs charge twice what they should--they have to fleece the few to generate revenue to pay the bills. RVs in Wendover have lots of places to stop, but KOA is the only one with trees to offer any shade. There is wifi but the signal barely reaches beyond 150 feet. The KOA standard recreation is stuck in the 50s, but it gave our kids something to explore. This KOA has tiered pricing to increase the cost if you add full hookups, cable, kids, pets, etc! I was delighted to discover a military discount! Bathrooms were clean and so was the shoppette inside. If you want to stay in Wendover, but not at a casino in a sterile parking lot without hookups (except for the Nugget), this is the only normal RV park in town.
