The dog park is a 2-acre, fenced-in area for dogs to run off-leash. A permit is required for each dog, available at the park office. Permits are $25/year, and are pro-rated depending on the date of purchase. Permits expire on July 1 of each year. Daily permits are available for $4. Important Notice! Dog must be present for photo identification to obtain dog park permit. Owners must provide current vaccination records showing proof of spayed/neutered, rabies, parvo and kennel cough. Dog permit fees do not include admission into the park.

Lovely State Park Near Town

This is a lovely state park with an excellent location right in the midst of Columbia, SC. Lush woods and ample trails for hiking, biking and walking. The campground is well shaded, and the spots vary widely in size and spacing. All sites are on a first come first serve basis if you don't have a reservation, which is excellent so you can pick what works for you. All spots are gravel, and vary in how level they are.

The bathhouses are clean, and there are electrical and water hookups. A dump station is available at no extra charge.

It's wonderful to stay in nature, while remaining close to town with shopping, grocery and eating opportunities literally at the entrance to the park.

There was a solid AT&T and Sprint 3G signal - perfect for staying connected.
