City/County Fairgrounds and Campsites
This campgrounds is in front of the state fairgrounds complex. The 'good' is that it is open, airy, well-situated to town, and not in 'the seedy side of town'...the 'bad' is that you are located directly beneath the approach path for the air National Guard's fighter jets landing there...I guess we saw 200 land while we were there...LOUD, and at all hours of the day.
Wi-Fi is available, but signal is weak. We ended up there for 2 days, and while there, they had a Renaissance Festival at the Fairgrounds...which caused them to close the front gates, block off traffic and reroute to a back street, and shut down the wi-fi signal completely for that 2nd day. Clearly, rv camping is an afterthought function here, or merely support for the fairgrounds.
NO credit cards...but they did take a check. Rates are a little high for what you get...no cable, either. Paid $25 a night, with no club discounts offered.
