Great stay

We stayed two nights. Great bath houses. Faint traffic noise but once inside RV fine. Industrial park but no detriment. City bus stop right outside KOA for $1.30 ride into San Antonio. Easy. Get all day pass for $2.75 if you plan on more than one trip to and from city. We didn't have a car so this was great. Also took city bus to two of the farthest missions. Would stay again.

Great KOA In San Antonio

We stayed here based on the reviews of others and our experience has been great! It's a beautiful tree filled park with well maintained grounds and accomodations. The staff is super helpful and friendly.

Access is easy from the interstate roadways despite being so close to a major city. The park is located in an industrial area but has no sense of being so. It's very secure, quiet, and has direct access to a walking / biking trail that seem to be everywhere in the area.

It also has a city bus stop right outside the property which makes access to the city center super easy. For $1.20, the bus takes you on a ~20 minute trip downtown for all that's offered there. It's a no-brainer; leave your vehicle safely in the park while the bus driver takes you where you want to go. No driving in a strange downtown, no parking fees, no threat of having your vehicle broken into.

We were here for New Years eve and had a spectacular time. I hope to come back in the Spring / Summer to enjoy the area again. No regrets!

Our second and we'll be back again!

Very clean and well maintained campground. Newly remodeled pool. Cute little Chuckwagon onsite for breakfast. Only complaint is its in an industrial area that's not so nice but still very quiet.

Great find!

It was Thursday night and we needed a place for the next three days, then realized that it was not only Easter weekend, but also going to be a some big Fiesta going on in San Antonio, oh my! As luck would have it, the KOA had 3 spots left, phew! What a find! This place has it all too! Beautiful amenities all around (pool, bikes of all kinds, playground, walking/bike trails, horseshoes, pizza delivery, breakfast hut, and of course the basics of TV, WiFi, laundry etc. You don't have to leave the place if you don't want to! It's only about 20 min. from downtown San Antonio's Riverwalk, yet close enough to groceries, post office etc. and far enough to be quiet. Sites are plenty long & gravel with brick pads for tables & chairs with trees for shade. It's one of the nicest places we've found in San Antonio yet, and the price was very reasonable too!

Fine KOA

Very nice pull-throughs, and sites have decent spaces. Picnic tables have patios. Charcoal grill available. WiFi included with very good signal. Cable is available. No sewer smell noted during our stay as on one previous review. Store present on property. City bus stop across the street that goes to the River Walk, River Center, and the Alamo that runs every 30 minutes. Staff very friendly and helpful. Month stayed: July 2011.

not as expected

If the wind is good, one doesn't smell the sewer gas that otherwise permeates the place. I haven't used the pool because of it. Shower houses are perfumed inside, but upon approach-hold nose! The wi-fi is free, when it works. AT&T 3g works pretty good, though. On weekends there are parties across the river at an old mansion so loud, you think it's at the park! Traffic to & from site can be rough due to nearness to AT&T Center. If freeway is backed up, you are stuck as there are limited side roads to take. I won't be back!
