Disappointment!!!
I rated one star, only because I could not get zero to work!!
I made reservations in mid-March for three campers, two would need 50 amp service, for Memorial weekend (2016). I specifically told the "manager" that we wanted to be side by side or in a group arrangement and was assured that was the easiest request for them to fill. I called again several weeks later to insure my request would be honored, and again was assured we would be happy with what she had in mind.
When we arrived NONE of us were side by side and was told "it really ain't that far away".
Neither unit that required 50 amp service had a site with 50 amps.
The sewer hook up for two of the sites had an open pipes allowing sewage to run on the ground. At one site the sewer line (laying on top of the ground) had been leaking for so long it had created a swamp area around the electric and fresh water conections of another site.
The two attendants tried to help, but the manager, who became quite belligerent, had a take it or leave it attitude. The owner had no remorse for our situation.
I took photos of the health issues and sent them to the county health deartment.
I would not stay there again and I would not recommend anyone to stay there.
Lazy R & R Cove, Spring Branch, TX
When we stayed at this park, it was called Mermaid Cove. This is a very run-down converted fish camp. Facilities are shoddy at best. Interior roads are gravel, rough and difficult to maneuver large rigs through. Sites are all gravel or dirt, mostly unlevel, and some are VERY unlevel, requiring significant blocking of wheels. Showerhouse is old, shabby and not very clean. Electrical and sewer hookups are old and need updating. Laundry room is old and shabby, with 2 washers and dryers that work only periodically. Cabins are old, shabby and cobbled together. As a matter of fact, almost everything is cobbled together. It is promoted as a pet friendly park, and it is, because there are NO restrictions. The owner's dog is allowed to run free, as well as other long-term residents' dogs, and no one enforces a leash rule or picks up after them. The high point for the park is the cove on Rebecca Creek that leads eventually to Canyon Lake. Good fishing. This is a good place if you're looking for solitude with few rules. We would never stay here again.
