Very pretty

This is a nice spot with good biking and walking. You could easily bike all over Newport Beach from here. I prefer more secluded places but we were here with family so it was great. There is a lot to do year round such as sailing, paddle boats and more in the lagoon. There is an nice restaurant here as well that serves pretty good breakfast but it is pricy.

Easy stop over

I stopped at this park to pump out my holding tanks and it was only a $7 charge. The park is paved with very flat spots and a lot of grass with some shade. I didn't stay the night but the staff was very friendly and the park looked very clean. The restaurant next door that is attached to the casino is a good place for breakfast. The park is extremely easy to get to as it is right off the freeway. The reason for the 3 star rating is that you can hear the freeway and it is not much of a wilderness type park which is what I like.

Good location in Bishop

This park offer paved pads with gravel spots, concrete pad for picnic area with a table in each spot. It is well kept but if you are looking for grass this is not the spot for you. They were very nice at registration and there are a ton of pill thru spots and a decent amount of shade. This would be a good launching point for Mammoth, Devil's Postpile, and the Bristlecone Pines. I would not stay here to just hang out at camp but it is a good stopping point and a good base camp.

Very Friendly Park

This is a nice park and very reasonably priced. We went to another park in the area first but it was very crowded and small. This park is a little tight to get into but the staff walked up to our site and guided us in. There are great walks for the dogs and clean facilities. The game room and pool for kids are a little old and run down. My wife and I would come back here next year on our way up north.

Small and tricky

This park has all the amenities of a KOA but it is very steep and tricky to get into. There are large sites down that the bottom of the park that are easier to get into but I have a 19 foot toy hauler and they put me at the top and hthe site was tight.

I also thought it ws close to Mount Rushmore, Wind Cave, and other sites but it is about 1 hour away from each of these.

A good spot that is close to Deadwood though and the town is neat.

Good KOA on the water

This park has great access to the beach and to the towns of Newport and Waldport. The sites are not the big but they are well maintained. The fire pits leave something to be desired. The facility is clean with a kids park and a common BBQ area that everyone can use.

The only problems that I have are ther are no trash cans throughout the park except one and it is not really dog friendly. By not dog friendly I mean there are no dog bag stands and the dog walking area is outside the park. Aside from this there is plenty of place to walk your dogs down to the beach and around the park but make sure to clean up after your pets please.

Great little Park

This is a great park with tent sites and RV sites with full hook-ups. The staff was very friendly and the site was very reasonably priced. You can walk to the shore of lake Shasta. Beautiful Manzanita trees throughout the park and the sites are very spacious.

Great RV Park

This is a great park with a great staff. I have spent the last 2 Thanksgivings at the park and a week each summer at the park. You can ride straight from the park and they offer great sites as well as new cabins. Everyone here rides on the dunes and it is a great group of people. The staff enforces the rules of the park which provides a great place for all the campers to stay.

Great for Riding

This is a nice park and very spacious. You can ride right from the park into Ocotillo Wells. They have full hook ups and showers. You have to pay for the showers. It is really quite during the week.

Very crowded

This park is very crowded and tight to get around. Several areas have trees on both sides is the narrow roads that have been hit by RVs. We had to park between two trees and it left us 8 inches on each side while backing up. Many of the sites are like this. Personally I would not stay here again.
