Arbuckle RV Resort, Sulphur, OK

This is a clean well-maintained park. All sites are level, full hookups, back-ins, gravel. Only a few have shade trees. Small but clean pool. Two small stocked fish ponds. Clean laundry room and shower/restrooms. Large community room can be rented for functions. Owners are very strict about following park rules, and can be quite abrasive about it. Park is about 5 miles from Lake Arbuckle, a large reservoir with good fishing. We would stay here again.

Lost Falls Campground, Black River Falls, WI

This is a very charming, clean, well-maintained campground. It is a two-level campground, with RV sites and cabins on the upper level away from the Black River, and tent sites on the lower level near the river. RV sites are mostly level grassy sites, some shaded. Kayaks, tubes and canoes can be rented here. Shuttle service is available to ferry tubers, kayakers and canoers up and down river. Very nice sandy beach on the Black River. Dogs are allowed on leash, and are even allowed "Doggy Dip" time in the river from 7 to 9 am each day. The cabins are all very well built, clean and well-maintained. We would definitely stay here again.

Lazy R & R Cove, Spring Branch, TX

When we stayed at this park, it was called Mermaid Cove. This is a very run-down converted fish camp. Facilities are shoddy at best. Interior roads are gravel, rough and difficult to maneuver large rigs through. Sites are all gravel or dirt, mostly unlevel, and some are VERY unlevel, requiring significant blocking of wheels. Showerhouse is old, shabby and not very clean. Electrical and sewer hookups are old and need updating. Laundry room is old and shabby, with 2 washers and dryers that work only periodically. Cabins are old, shabby and cobbled together. As a matter of fact, almost everything is cobbled together. It is promoted as a pet friendly park, and it is, because there are NO restrictions. The owner's dog is allowed to run free, as well as other long-term residents' dogs, and no one enforces a leash rule or picks up after them. The high point for the park is the cove on Rebecca Creek that leads eventually to Canyon Lake. Good fishing. This is a good place if you're looking for solitude with few rules. We would never stay here again.

Seven Bluff Cabins & RV Park, Concan, TX

This is a very clean, well-kept park with both cabins and RV sites. The whole park is set in a former pecan grove, with many pecan trees providing shade for all sites and cabins. The cabins are very well done, and all RV sites are level, ample-sized gravel sites. Wi-Fi works, but is somewhat weak. Restrooms/showerhouse/laundry is aged, but clean and well-maintained. Local television is non-existent. Cabins have satellite TV, but RV sites do not. The park has several hundred feet of frontage on the Frio River, a popular tubing/kayaking/fishing river. The park has an upscale apparel shop attached to the office with some very fashionable clothing and gift items. Shopping is a long way away, 35 miles to Uvalde. We would definitely stay here again.

Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park at Birchwood Acres, Woodridge, NY

This is a destination park for kids. Excellent facilities such as Olympic sized pool and spray pool, paddleball court, tennis court, ball fields, fishing pond, recreation hall, snackbar, camp store. Many organized activities for kids. Many seasonals stay all summer, and tend to be loud and clannish. The campground has a local public road running right through the middle of the activities area, near the pool and fish pond, and the local traffic speeds through here very often. We were amazed that children weren't killed. It's a very dangerous area. The owner is very obnoxious if his "rules" aren't followed exactly. We saw him loudly berate campers publicly. Campfires must be out by 11:00 pm, and the nighttime security guy is extremely rude if it isn't out on time. We saw him actually pour water on a camper's fire. Although the surrounding area is beautiful, we would not stay here again.

Countryside RV Park, Lake Panasoffkee, FL

A very well-maintained snowbird park. All but 10 sites are occupied by seasonal RV's or park models. Entry road and interior roads are all paved. All sites are level, grassy, and well-shaded, except for the 10 pull-thru's, which are in an open field. These sites are also often filled with seasonals, but an occasional open site can be found for over-nighters. Wi-Fi only works near the office and in the Clubhouse near the office. Clubhouse is large, clean, and well-equipped with kitchen, large activities room and game room. Restrooms/showerhouse are very clean and well-maintained, as well as the attached laundry, which has 6 washers and dryers each. Lake Panasoffkee is very small, so shopping is minimal, but good shopping is available within 15 miles in Bushnell. We would stay here again
