Trying to improve this campground

Looking for a place to hang low for awhile we found a Passport America campground in Bartelsville, Oklahoma in Riverside Campground.
You could tell the owners are trying to keep this place up and improve on it, The bathrooms were clean, but one toilet and shower for men and same for ladies. They have a swimming pool and a walking path nearby.

Dump station and lots of pull-throughs full hook-ups with 50 amp service. Laundry but no propane. Small swapping library.
There are a few things to do near Bartlesville and Tulsa is less than an hour away. Owner was very chatty. Next to a small creek, decent amount of trees

VWe paid $16 for a night for three night with a Passport America card. We had plenty of room, but I wouldn't want to be here during peak season.

Cheapest place to stay in OKC?

We wanted to stay close to Oklahoma city to visit several things in this city. However there were no Passport America or Happy Camper sites close enough, so we resorted to an internet search and found the Road Runner RV Park with easy access to the several interstates that course through Oklahoma City. So while it wasn't the nicest park, it was very convenient for our purposes.

It was clean, although in some places it is getting old and run down.
There were lots of showers which were roomy and hot. The boys liked the trough style urinal, but Dad wasn't as impressed. No soap by the sinks - what is it with no soap in RV Park bathrooms???
Nothing here at the park fun to do.

Dump station and some pull-throughs full hook-ups. nice laundry facility with only $1 to wash or dry.

Right in Oklahoma City and nearby suburbs. Met two staff members who were very helpful and friendly.Very few trees and close to Interstate 35. Nice grass surrounds the sites.

Red Rock Canyon

Red Rock Canyon State Park

For a State Park it was average looking. There was a bit of construction going on.

There were nice new bathrooms which charged for showers. However there were older, run down bathrooms with a free shower. You had to hold the button down or the shower would turn off though!

They have a pool that was closed for the season and some interesting trails. Our boys mostly liked playing on the red hills and the small creek running by our campsite. There is also a small pond for fishing and some great walls for rappelling, if you are into that sort of thing.

Dump station and some pull-throughs, very few full hook-ups. No propane, but not unusual for a State Park. About an hour from Oklahoma City and 45 minutes to the west from some Route 66 museums.

Rangers were nice, although they only take cash or check! Natural surroundings were Gorgeous red canyon walls, lots of trees and The California Trail runs through the middle of the park.

Paid $25 for a night.

Halloween Camping

We spent Halloween night at the Amarillo RV Ranch. It was nicely kept up, if in a neighborhood that is not so much.

Bathrooms were small and cold, the water was hot. Not only did they have a decent playground and an outdoor pool, they also had an indoor pool and hot tub. Can't beat swimming on Halloween!

Dump station, lots of full hook-ups with pull-throughs. Have laundry, but we didn't check it out. Very nice "camp store." Free coffee and pastries at the the store in the morning. Nice place for dog owners too. In the middle of Amarillo, minutes from the Big Texan (you can even get free limo service there and back).

The staff were lots of retirees fawned over some of our boys.
Next to I-40, a train track also goes by a couple miles away. Using our Passport America Card we paid $16.50 for the first night. This is only good for the first night.

Krispy Kreme nearby!!

We stayed the past couple of days in a Passport America RV park in Arlington, Texas called Treetops RV Park in the fall of 2010. Fun to be in a city so pumped about the Rangers going to the World Series.

It seemed even the sites that were monthly or yearly were tidy and well-kept. The bathrooms were Key-coded security. Only one stall and shower per bathroom. Clean and smell like my Grandmother's house used to (comfort smell for me). No playground, pool closed during the offseason, typical library with Harlequin style things.

Of course they have a dump station, lots of full hook-ups, showers. They have two laundry facilities at $1 each, cheaper price from what we have found. They also have propane for sale.

Arlington is a part of the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex, but it has quite a few activities on it's own including The Cowboys, Rangers and Six Flags. We found a Krispy Kreme less than a mile away, so this was a big bonus for us!!

Staff was Nice - retired set. Work Campers I'm guessing. Treetops has plenty of treetops. We had plenty of room for our rig and van, plus it had a picnic table. the park was very quiet. Using our Passport America card we paid $16.50 a night for two nights.

Nice place

After a bad experience in at a park near Dallas the Austin Lone Star RV Resort was like an oasis of relief! We would go back if we are ever back in Austin!

This park was clean with lots of clean bathrooms. Almost all of them worked great, a couple of the shower faucets had issues, but that was no big deal, just move to one that worked A very nice pool, warm because they used a heating pad, and it had a nice kiddie area at 1 1/2 feet deep. Very small playground. We didn't visit the game room area. On weekends they have all you can eat pancakes for $2 each.

Dump station, full hook-ups, showers, laundry and a decent store. We had to get a new hose and they had several to choose from. Huge speed bumps and narrow roads make it hard to drive a bigger rig. Austin nearby. San Antonio farther down the road. Nice folks working there. A ton of bushes, trees and and other green things separate the sites.
Not a ton of room at the sites, but after the last place we felt like it was acreage. We paid a little $21 a night. We used our Passport America membership card.
