Beatiful Weather

We were here New Years Eve they had entertainment on the week ends. Not to loud. The weather was a balmy 85 degrees in January. The no-see-um's were out in full force as they always are in the keys. The bathrooms here were in the middle of being upgraded. KOA staff are some of the nicest people .. always helpful and let us add days onto our trip. We were going to stay 2 nights ended up staying 5 nights!! The pool was nice and seemed like it was heated. They also had a restaurant and a bar. There was a bait shop and boat rental along with a fishing pier and small beach.

Great Dog Park!!

We stayed here a couple nights. My husband caught some fish and we also took our beach chairs and dogs and hung out on the dog beach.
The sites are private and the park is quiet. Nice place!

Beatiful Beach

We Have stayed here a Christmas for the past 3 years. The temps are usually in the 50-60 range. The beach is 9miles of beautiful sugar sand and the shelling is beyond compare. The only drawback is it's an older park some some of the sites are tight. Even when the park is full there is so much beach it doesn't seem crowded. We Love it here and at 24$ a nite it can't be beat.

short walk to beach

This is a nice camp ground everything was clean and everyone was friendly. Even after being hit by a Hurricane. The campground next to Ocean waves looked like a war zone but everyone here came together and was up and running. To get there we even had to go over a temporary bridge.(you could see the road that was there under water)
Again it was kept very clean with a short walk to the beach for Hubby's surf fishing and dog walking. Yes, the dogs could go one this beach it was great I usually have to hike trails with them.
If you get a chance this is a nice place!

A beautiful spot

We stayed here one night as we were traveling back through Michigan after picking up our new puppy! We had site #48 at gun lake. The spot was tight on the lake at the end with no neighbors beside us.
My husband walked right out into the water to fish right from out site! The bath houses were the nicest of any where we have ever camped! They do get you for an $8.00 fee to get in the park along with the camping fee so it ends up being $32 per night.
All in all we would like to go back some day.

Magical Manatee's

We liked this park. The campsites seemed larger and not as close together as other Florida State Parks we've stayed in. The area was warm for January and the mosquito's were wicked(make sure all dogs are up on their heart worm pills) but the abundance of wild life more then made up for it.
As we drove in we saw a lot of deer it was later in the day so we set up camp and went to bed. In the morning we were having coffee and watched the deer. Unfortunately it started to rain so we went up to see if there were any manatee's.
We walked up the long board walk in the poring rain... lo and behold as we stood under the cover seating area a manatee that was headed up the spring turned and swam right past us. Amazing!
Unfortunately the rain was poring down so we packed up and left. If you get a chance you should visit here... but make sure take you bug spray!

We Love it here!

We have stayed at the gulf breeze camp sites over Christmas for 2 years in a row. You can hear the waves from your camper. Short walk to the board walk over the dunes to the beach. There is miles and miles of beautiful sugar sand beach and it's a shell collecting paradise! There is also a bay side beach.
Some very nice hiking trails and if you have kids they have a really nice playground, but from either campground (gulf breeze or shady pines) you would have to drive over to it.
The only set back is you are on a time zone line so your time keeps changing and 3G goes in and out.... but if I plug in my kindle and download a book I do it before bed. Sometime during the night it will pick up enough signal and my book is downloaded in the morning when I get up.
A warning double check the size of your rig as some of the sites here are very tight.

love the bay side sites

We have been here twice 2011/2012 and 2012/2013. Each time was over Christmas and New Year. The bath houses were hard to get into due to cleaning schedules and no lights on. They do not have wi-fi but it you have 3G you get a full 5 bars. The beaches are beautiful and the water is emerald. There is also some nice hiking trails and a dock to fish on the bay side and put boats in Even with having to play bathhouse roulette I have to rate St. Andrews highly. Just for the view from our campsite!
