Avoid this park

There is no other way to describe this place. A sleazy, crime-ridden RV park with many permanent dwellers, considerable drug activity (there is a adjacent truck stop), and frequent police responses. There are no traditional RV park amenities at all. Stay at your own risk. There are a number of more desireable RV parks nearby.

A quiet, safe family-run campground

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. We stayed in the Ponderosa Campground for several months while building a new home in the area. The park is family-owned and operated and they make you feel like you're one of the family. The park is a quiet, restful place, located just off Interstate 75 at exit 142 in Georgia. There are no other businesses in the immediate area, so traffic and noise is almost non-existent. There is plenty of shopping and dining just a few miles down the same road heading into Warner Robins. The bath house is nice as is the laundry room. Propane refill is available at the campground. There is no store on site but there is a covenience store less than a mile to the east and a large Publix grocery store two miles east. If you need RV parts, repairs, or accessories, Camping World and Mid-State RV are located 7 miles north on I-75 and there is a Lowe's hardware warehouse store 2 miles east, across from the Publix grocery store. Be sure to also visit the Lane Packing Shed business about five miles to the west on GA 96 and enjoy some fresh peach ice cream, peach cobbler, pecans, and the gift shop.
