Good place to stay for a few nights...

This is a very basic RV campground and very small. There are no amenities, except for WiFi which works well for casual surfing. The price per night at $35 per night was a bit more then it should be, but there are very few RV campgrounds near Richmond so you just have to go with it.

There is water, electric, and sewer hookup. There is no cable TV, if that is your thing.

It's nothing to look at, it is next door to a trailer park. The noise was not noticeable even though you are next to Highway 1. In fact, at night the highway is very empty which allows for good sleep.

Would I recommend this park? Sure. Would we come back? Sure, for a day or two.

Fantastic Stay

We stayed here for six days in March although we had originally planned on staying for three days. We really enjoyed this place, even though it was off-season and most amenities were closed, we were as close as possible to the beach.

The cost to stay here also was a huge factor; at only $31 a day, we could not have asked for any better place to stop our RV. We had full hookups, a decent sized space, and Cable TV.

I was leery of this place, afraid it would be chinsy or overly family (yes I have my family with me, but we do not really enjoy full-on-family experience places). This campground is a campground with limited pirate theming, perfect for us.

Would I recommend this park? Absolutely. Would we come back? Absolutely.

Good stay

We stayed here for two days in March and really enjoyed our stay. The staff was very helpful and easy to work with.

Our site was located next to the pond and on the small side, but we had full hookups including cable TV. The WiFi was spotty, but it worked.

It was raining the entire time we stayed, but the campground looked well maintained. There was an occasional train, but it was not disruptive.

Would I recommend this park? Yes. Would we come back? Yes

Good Place, overpriced.

We stayed here for three days in March and really enjoyed our stay. The RV park is pretty standard, full hookups, cable, and *gasp* WiFi that works! Our space was on the 'B' row and it was pretty quiet.

The laundry room was small, but adequate and clean. The playground was decent. The dog run was amazing, simply one of the best.

I have two complaints. The first is they don't offer a weekly rate (normally one day free), the second is the daily rate is just expensive. We would have stayed for a whole week, but at $59 a day it just was not worth it to extend our stay.

Would I recommend this park? Absolutely. Would we come back? Yes.

Good Stay

This is a review for the campground. I was planning on a no-frills space and that is what I found.

We stayed here for one night as we were passing through. The space was spacious, but there was no pad or gravel so we parked the RV on the dirt. I let the toddlers and our dog run around until the bugs started to attack, then we pulled back into the RV where we watched bug after bug try to break in over the next few hours.

I had only expected Electric hookups, but was surprised to find a water faucet. Not surprisingly the water pressure was next to none, a spilled glass of milk has more water pressure than the faucet here... but hey, it was a bonus right?

The cost to stay here was $30 a night, which seemed a bit steep but acceptable. The other surprise we found was that GA state parks charge a 'car pass', which is $5 per visit. If you are staying here a week, its $5 which helps spread the cost. In our case, it was one night, $5 making our nightly total $35, which is what, and some regular RV campgrounds charge.

I cannot really knock this place though, it was beautiful and quiet. I did enjoy our stay, sans the bugs.

Would I recommend this park? Yes. Would we come back? Yes, probably

Poor Stay at the KOA

This was our 50th RV Campground since we started our trip nearly 9 months ago. I was looking forward to visiting St Augustine thanks to some friends recommendations and of course, it is the oldest city in North America.

Our stay at the KOA was very disappointing from the moment I pulled into the campground. Our nightly rate of $67 was the most we had spent on our trip so far, so I was expecting some pizzazz. Instead, I was greeted by an unhappy employee who did not want to help me and a campground full of 'Out of Order' signs.

I paid a bit more for a 'premium' space, but the only thing premium was having a small 'wooded' area between you and other RV spaces. Our space was up front so we had lots of noise from the tour buses and other campers. Our picnic table and patio area was in disrepair. The space was very unleveled, there was at least a one-foot elevation difference.

We had full hookups and surprisingly the WiFi was reliable (not enough for me to work on, but good enough for casual browsing). The cable TV worked, but the channels were limited (we did get two religious channels, including the infamous GOD TV).

The 'play' area was pathetic, run down, and dirty. The laundry room had 20% of the washers 'Out of Order' and two out of the three dryers were 'Out of Order' our visit. The game room looked sad; half the machines were 'Out of Order'. It seemed you could not walk around the RV campground without seeing those three dreaded words, 'Out of Order'.

The RV Campground is centrally located, you of course have to drive into the city but who would expect a RV Campground in a 500+ year old city? There were shops and food nearby.

At the end of the day, our stay was pleasant. I could not imagine coming here again though and paying nearly $70 a night. This is a $40 per night RV Campground, not a penny more.

Would I recommend this park? Not really. Would we come back? No.

A overall good stay

We stayed at Jetty Park for three days. When we arrived we only had a single night booked and hoped to stay longer, as we wanted to explore Cape Canaveral more. Unfortunately our spot was only available for a single night, but they had another spot on the other side of the campground for two days to complete our visit.

The spaces only had 30 AMP power, but sewer and water. There was Tengo WiFi Internet, but I have learnt my lesson never to pay for Tengo again. The campground was quiet except for the occasional cruise ship; one left at 10:30 PM and sounded like a dance party.

The spaces were larger, but awkward. Our second space had a huge depression, if there had been a rainstorm it would have made our space pond-front.

My complaints for the campground are on two fronts. The first is cost, $52 a night is about $15 too much. I think the nightly rate would have been more, but the office person didn't seem to know how to work the computer well. The second complaint is the odd "booked" spaces. I can't imagined someone specifically wanted our space, but when you make reservations they book that space for the stay. They have to shuffle you around when there is limited space, they spaces should be allocated first-come-first-serve in my opinion.

Would I recommend this park? Yes, it is OK. Would we come back? Sure.

Excellent Stay!

Our initial stay was supposed to only be five days, but after two days, we fell in love and extended our stay to the maximum of 14 days. We had to move our campsite, but as it turns out that was good as our new spot was better.

The campground was 100% full our entire stay. There may have been one space free one night, but that was it. We had full hookups, power, sewer, and water and they were placed thoughtfully. It appears the park was recently redone and it is VERY clean and VERY well maintained.

There is a great playground for the kids and miles of pathways for dog walks. The RV spaces were spacious and gave us appropriate distance to our neighbors.

Would I recommend this park? Absolutely. Would we come back? Absolutely

Great Location, Questionable RV Campground

This place could use a lot of work and it sounds like Encore is going to overhaul the RV Campground this summer. Not a minute too soon. We stayed here a week in February 2014.

We found the campground via a Passport America promotion and stayed 50% off for a week. I believe 50% off is still too much money for the RV Campground. The spot they sent us to was too small and after 1 1/2 hours of problems, we finally were given a spot that fit our RV (36' Class A) but learned later someone else was already paying for the space for a money but out of town.

The laundry list of issues with the campground include:

- Awkward spaces with a concrete patio in an odd place, hard to pull in a RV close enough to the hookups. The campground spaces are also very muddy and have an odd 'smell'
- Laundry room is often filled with broken machines; one day there was only one washer operating (out of ten). The change machines rarely worked and the front office did not have enough quarters on hand.
- Electrical/Water issues - At least twice we lost power/water to our space with no warning. They are 'fixing' the electrical/water, but a little notice would be helpful.
- The office was chaotic/understaffed. One of the office personnel was incredibly helpful, although you could tell she was overwhelmed by the chaos.
- Quiet hours: 11 PM to 8:00 PM; this involved a few late night 'parties'.
- Resort Fee: This RV park is part of Encore, we were already spending $50 a night. I had to pay an extra $3 per night for our stay for a 'Resort Fee'. In Las Vegas, a Resort Fee covers the TV and WiFi but here it covers ... (WiFi was an additional charge)
- High number of permanent/snowbird residents who have settled into the RV park, full patios, etc...

This RV park had water, sewer, electric and cable hookups. There was a laundry room, which was clean but very expensive. They have a large playground, which our kids enjoyed.

Would I recommend this park? Maybe. Would we come back? Probably, because of the location not the RV campground.

Good Enough Stay

We came to Gator Park to see the Gator show. It was convenient to stay here, as Gator Park was located halfway between our two stops. We stayed for a night and while the campground is not luxurious, we did not have any issues.

There was no laundry room or central bathrooms. Our spot, #20, only had electric and water but we did see some had sewer.

After the park closed at 5:00 PM, the area calmed down considerably and overnight we were not disturbed.

I think $30 a night for what is offered is a bit high, $25 would be more appropriate.

Would I recommend this park? For a single night. Would we come back? Not likely, we will explore another campground next time.
