Scenic and Relaxing

Very close to all that Memphis offers yet little of the annoyances and noise. Conveniently located about 2 miles off the interstate and there is no highway noise. Interesting watching the river traffic moving along the nearby Mississippi River, and some sites are so close to the river bank the barges are easily in view.

The park offers sites that are in a wooded area or an open area near the river bank, also gravel or paved sites. Space between sites is about normal, not too close but not wide apart either. It's a very level park and probably no side-to-side leveling will be needed for your RV. Full hookup sites are everywhere.

There is no cable television here but we picked up about 35 local channels by roof-top antenna including all of the major networks. Satellite reception will be excellent at most river-front sites, but suggest making that request when placing your advanced reservation. There is complementary wifi and it worked well most times; like other parks it is stressed by the large number of devices that are connected.

This RV park is very peaceful and relaxing, with a scenic direct view of the river. Our site was paved and directly adjacent to the river; however during the summer months it could be very hot because there is no shade there. We stayed here in a travel trailer and would visit again.

Affordable and Quiet

Very quiet location, full hookups, mostly level sites. It's about 2 miles off the interstate highway so no highway noise at night. The access road is a bit narrow but doable for even the largest RV's. While the campground itself has some rolling hills the sites are all mostly very level. The all gravel sites are a bit narrow as well but reasonable space between your neighbors.

Very strong wifi signal, you can get a few over the air tv channels including some of the networks. We used the satellite television system here but there are some sites with trees so be sure to mention that when making your reservation.

The price is right to stay here, very reasonable for the location and services offered.

Very basic and overpriced

This park is not a value for the nightly cost and offers no services. No wifi, no cable tv, tight spaces, only one picnic table for the entire rv park, no street lamps so it's very dark at night, and of course it's pretty noisy from the interstate traffic that is quite close. There are not many choices in this area, that probably has a lot to do with the overnight rate that is charged here. While it's convenient to travelers and offers full hookups there is nothing else to get excited about.

I would not stay here again but instead plan my route with a few additional miles to locate an RV park that offers services that really matter.

Excellent

Completely new within the past 10 years, this park is convenient to the nearby interstate highway but wonderfully quiet. Fully paved concrete sites with asphalt roads throughout the park, there are 20 full hookup sites. Didn't have to even do any side-to-side leveling at the site either, and all sites have picnic table and most have partial shade.

Most of the full hookup sites will offer satellite reception, and there are a handful of over-the-air antenna channels available including most of the major networks. Be sure to ask when making your reservation if you can use a satellite antenna at the chosen site. There is no wifi service thru the campground but is available at the visitor center, plus cellular service is very strong all over.

The hiking is very good here with hikes of 1m, 4m, and 10m+ readily available. Highly recommend hiking a portion of the Ozark Highland Trail which has its' western terminus right behind the park's visitor center. Even covering a short 2-3 miles of this trail on a day hike you'll get a solid feeling of the ruggedness of the Ozark mountains where you're camping.

We stayed here in a travel trailer and would return. Don't be put off by the winding access road from the interstate, the park is only about 6 miles off the highway. Just slow down, it's very drive-able including for those with large RV's.

Very nice park

This is a really great RV park that is convenient to the adjacent theme parks, the KC metro area, or other nearby towns. Despite some confusion on how to enter the park and the exact location of the office to complete the check-in process the sites themselves are really nice. The park is adjacent to the Worlds of Fun and Oceans of Fun theme parks, and offers a view of the roller coaster. Although the theme parks were not open the day that we arrived one could imagine the coaster in plain view and hearing the screams of delight from its' passengers.

There are 80+ sites here and they're pretty long, mostly level, concrete pad, some are pull-thru, others are back-in sites, and the park roads are also concrete. Cable television is included in the daily rate, all major networks also available with your over-the-air antenna, and a satellite antenna would work well because while there are trees/shrubs at nearly every site they are still very young and not tall. The downside is potentially not much shade on a very hot day. The park offers wifi service but the entire time we spent there it seemed overwhelmed with the number of users and as a result was not reliable. However because of the city location cellular service is terrific. Every site has a picnic table, a grill, and a trash can. Several cabins and cottages are available for those without an RV.

The park is very popular and sells out many weekends and during holiday time periods. There is some traffic noise from the interstate highway, but mostly from the adjacent access road to the park itself and especially from a truck/trailer maintenance facility that lies south of the RV park. The park was very clean and well maintained, we stayed here in a travel trailer and would stay again.

City Close but Country Quiet

City Close but Country Quiet is straight from the website for this park and it's a very appropriate description. This is an excellent, quiet county park with plenty of nearby hiking and playgrounds, yet it's close enough to enjoy all that the big city offers including only one mile to the zoo. Full hookups, paved roads, level gravel RV sites, and a very affordable nightly rate. Most of the sites are very spacious, there is some shade, grassy areas abound and they are very well maintained. Every site has a fire ring and picnic table. Just about all of the sites are back in sites, only a handful of pull-thru sites are available and most of them are located right adjacent to the park road; not the ideal location.

No cable television is offered, but the satellite antenna works well at most any site. All major networks available with the over-the-air antenna. The wifi service is spotty, most likely because the park is so full and it's being heavily used by the overnight guests.

This campground is very popular so you need to make your reservations well in advance. We stayed here late summer (the park was completely full) and would stay here again.

About what you'd expect

About what you've come to expect from KOA, with everything in its' place. There aren't too many full hookup choices in the immediate area. This is convenient to the city of Bemidji and the nearby Itasca State Park, nearby the airport and there is some highway noise but not so bad late at night. Easy on/off access, mostly pull-thru level sites that are a bit close together. Very impressive RV/camp store in the office, one of the biggest assortments you'd probably find in most RV parks.

No over the air television channels were available but the park has an extensive cable lineup that is included in the rate; satellite reception was excellent but there may be some sites with trees that could be a problem. When checking in you're given two access codes for the complimentary wireless internet service. It worked well for the two days we were there, but if you have more than two devices they want you to pay additional $2 per access code. Don't agree with that, after paying my fee to spend the night there I should be allowed to connect as many devices as needed. As it ended up we used our two codes on the two smartphones and weren't able to connect the computer (unless agreeing to the additional $2 fee).

The park was clean, friendly, very quiet, and not even half full the nights that we spent. It didn't rain while we were there but I could see that there would be several areas on the site itself and the park roads that would be come muddy; my advice to the management spend some money and bring in some additional loads of gravel so your overnight guests don't have to worry about mud puddles after a heavy rain.

Convenient but pricey

Very convenient to all that Voyageurs NP offers in the immediate area, it's located only one mile from the nearby Visitor's Center. The sites are adjacent to another RV park but with a tall wooden fence between the two campgrounds; the other park isn't as nice but there wasn't any noise or bother with it being so close. The sites here are close together, all gravel, all back-in, each has a picnic table and full hookups. For anyone visiting without their own RV there are several very nice appearing cabins available to rent; they're in the same general area as the RV park and convenient to all of the same facilities.

There aren't any over-the-air television channels available, but satellite television worked well and should do so at each of the sites. Best to confirm that when making your reservation. The wifi service is included and it worked very well the entire three days that we stayed. Cell service is spotty because of the remote location. The park itself is very clean, grass was mowed, and no trash blowing around either.

There aren't many choices in the immediate area, and most of them have only a few spaces for RV's. They're more like small motels that have a very small number of RV pads available and those tend to sell out quickly. While this place is nicely planned out and has a great view of the lake from the dock, the RV sites are not located directly on the lake but instead have a view from the RV driver's side of the lake. We felt for the price we paid there should have been more amenities, larger sites, better lake view, etc. I would expect to pay closer to $40 per night for the space I occupied and the amenities that I received.

Great Park, Price is Right

Convenient for day trips exploring the Keweenaw Peninsula, and at $20 per night very affordable. They do not take reservations but also rarely rent out all 12 full-service spots. It's located on the southeast corner (rear) of the casino parking lot. Sites are mostly level but some on the lower portion of the lot look prone to puddling. All sites are back in and odd #'s have to cross over for water. There is no shade, some grassy area on both sides of the asphalt pad, and all sites have a picnic table. Only the sites furthest from the highway offer 50 amp service so plan accordingly. There is no room for your tow vehicle on your pad so just park in the casino parking lot nearby. Some late-night noise over the weekend because it is a casino but it didn't disturb us much.

Excellent complimentary wifi signal. There are no over-the-air television channels that I could get with the roof top antenna but the satellite antenna works very well. They could do a better job of keeping the trash bins emptied. While we were here the winds were strong and most had blown over; thankfully the contents were bagged and didn't get all over the place. The grassy area was well maintained.

There aren't too many RV park options in the local area, and while this is a low frills site (not counting the adjacent casino) it is very convenient and affordable. We stayed here in a travel trailer and if visiting the area a second time would stay here again.

Nicest in the area

Probably the nicest RV park in the area. Convenient to both interstates and all 3 state parks nearby are easily accessible. Love's Travel Plaza right off the interstate exit too, right on your way to the RV park.

Generously spaced sites, some have concrete pads and others are gravel. Picnic table and a fire ring at every site. Didn't need to level our travel trailer on our site but some visitors do have leveling pads in use. Mostly very level sites throughout the park. Very clean all around the place, they must work hard to keep it that way and keep the trash containers emptied regularly. There is some noise from the interstate highway but it's mostly a slight background noise; we've been to parks much noisier.

Wifi is complimentary and worked really well both nights we spent here. A handful of over-the-air television stations but none are the major networks and the park does not offer cable television service. The satellite antenna works well here, and many of the RV's here have satellite antennas in use; be sure to ask for a site with a clear view to the south when making reservations.

We stayed here in a travel trailer, and yes would return for a second visit. Daily rate listed below reflects Good Sam discount.
