For a great park to tour Dodge City from, this is great! Shaded parking area, power, water, sewage at all sites! Close to downtown, friendly staff, good prices! If your looking for campfires, trails, fishing, boating. Not so good. Several state parks in the area for that!
I stayed her for one night in my fifth wheel RV and it wasn't too bad. Lots of people, but it is a good sized park near the lake.
I arrived on a reservation and everything went smoothly. Site was level and they even provided an adapter for my 30 amp hookup. The manager was extremely nice and helpful! Not the most visually pleasing upon arrival but I was extremely pleased with my overnight stay! They did honor my Good Sams!
Depends what you want in a park, I guess. I pulled my 5th wheel in on a call-in reservation. They weren't open when I arrived, but had my spot flagged...great service!
However, the park is big..there were lots of people out, even at 9pm, most were drinking, loud, and with the large mobile home park in the same facility, the constant thump of car stereos and loud vehicle exhausts was annoying. We were glad when the rainstorm started...just to get everyone inside!
Rates were good, I guess...$22 with Good Sam's...and that was for a 30/50 pull thru full connect with cable.
Garmin directions are accurate...as you may be thinking 'uh, oh, this looks like a really rough side of town...are you sure this is right?' as you get near the entrance.
OK as a one nighter...but I wouldn't 'homestead' here...
