We stayed in a riverside spot that felt nice and isolated from the rest of the park. The tall redwood trees are absolutely lovely providing lots of nice shade, and the river is slow moving but still peaceful. The staff is very friendly, and the bathrooms were fairly clean. The fountain area is really a quaint little town with lots of fun activities, I really like the state park just across the river. Access to Santa Cruz is also very easy via the fun to drive highway 9.
We were here for only one night as we traveled through Kansas City. This is a nice little park, however, and we enjoyed our brief stay. The only issue we noted was the proximity to the freeway. It made for a loud evening listening to big breaks fly by.
