Timeshare Trip

We booked through our timeshare for a week stay. The resort is pretty nice. New buildings, nice level gravel pads, and good spacing. There are only fire pits near the creek so that was a little disappointing, but if you brought portable fireplaces (LP only) then it was ok at the other sites. They do have a fishing pond that is stocked with bass and cat fish, but there were a few people fly fishing in the creek too. My only negative comments are the main entry is narrow for big rigs and the pool needs a little work to fix cracks and surfacing. There is allot to do in the surrounding area...we went gem mining at COWEE mine in Franklin NC and found rubies, emeralds, and sapphires. We also went river rafting, did some wine and moonshine tasting, and zip lining!

Lot of potential

The campground was bought out by Adventure Bound and we got here the day after ownership took place. The new owners and staff were very helpful getting us situated and the "resident" problems out.

The campground is centrally located for getting into DC or surrounding towns. My only issue is the park has little lighting throughout and no dedicated security to keep neighboring thieves out. The staff is aware of the problems and are working to correct them. I would stay again if I ever pass through.

Convenient to St. Augustine

Not a bad campsite for short stays. We stayed three nights and my only complaints are the noise from the street, poor wifi, and too much shade. Personally I think more trees along the perimeter would be great to block the noise and view of the street, but that's just an opinion. Sites are roomy but there are some tight turns for big rigs which made getting into our site a little hectic in the dark.

Lastly we got into a site which was next a previous camper who didn't believe in cleaning up after there animals...so please be considerate of others. St Augustine is a great place to visit and illness back this way again.

Arrowhead RV Park

We stayed three nights only because we had a short weekend. Sites are natural and not hard pads so there was some sloping issues. Scenery is okay if your by the water...if you're on the back side you'll be looking at storage units. The pool was nice and our kids had a blast. If it wasn't for the pool we would have left since there wasn't much else for the kids to do.
