Nothing wrong with the campground but for what we got - smallest pop-up site with no sewer it was originally $41 before good Sam discount- seemed high for late October but maybe they can charge this because there aren't so many places available this time of year.
Check out time is 9am something I had never seen before!
Great state historical park! Nice Rv sites gravel pads level with lots of grass between. We had site 2 which had a huge area behind it with no one else's site in your view. Amazingly quite! 15 original buildings from the old fort and a great visitor center. Judy and Chris were very knowledgable and extremely friendly. You either need to reserve on line or by phone and can do so when you arrive if needed- no on site payments. Our price included a $7 out of state fee. I wish all Rv parks had such great showers! Hot water and great pressure! Fire pits and wood for sale. Nice separate tent area. We happen to be staying on Haunted Fort night and took the candlelight tour- very cool. 3 weeks into our South Dakota trip having stayed at many great places song the way this was a definite highlight!
Nice basic city Rv park. No water or sewer hook ups but if all you need is electric it is a nice quite place for a night or two. Clean bathrooms. Quite neighborhood. Perfect location to easily see brookings.
Nicely maintained - not on a main highway so it's quite- philipsburg is a great little town. Small park attached to a cute inn. Friendly owner on property.
Big trees, pleasant not noisy- grass between gravel sites. All the needed amenities Good bathrooms/showers (even heated). Full convenience store and propane. Great price for KOA and what you get. We had an electric site in a travel trailer. Great tent camp area also.
Arrived to find out they only take trailers 2000 and newer. We have a restored vintage trailer so the gal at the desk who was not friendly turned us away. Meanwhile there were trashed 70's trailers through the park! The place didn't really even look like somewhere we wanted to be but the location worked, it was old and tired!
The site is rustic but that wasn't a bad thing. If you are looking for a resort this is not your place. Off highway enough there was NO noise. Super quite all evening through when we left the next day! Many semi-permanent people but we weren't bothered. Never asked but not sure if there was a bathroom or wifi. We worry about lease enforcement as we have a small dog but the few dogs we saw were all on short leases. Super nice people running the park. We would stay again.
Very clean small park. Right on the river with nice grass in between sites and average concrete pads. Fire pits and picnic tables. It is right below the freeway so there was noise but it didn't effect our stay. Don't think there was wifi. Cash only. The hosts here for the next 3 months very friendly. Clean large bathrooms with showers. Staring may 15 no dogs allowed so we won't be able to come back.
Great campground- wooded nicely spaced sites. Just far enough off the highway so there is no noise. Felt like a true campground which was our goal. Fire pits- which are often hard to find in RV parks! Clean bathrooms. Had a pool but it is not open this time of year. Small stocked store. Rita - I believe the owner- very nice at checkin.
Camped here memorial weekend so it was almost full. We were in the soldier creek area because we didn't need full hookup and wanted a fire ring. Some sites are close together but many has tons of space. Only used the pit toilets- didn't check out the shower house. So much to do at the park very glad we stayed here. Price includes daily car fee. Wish we had known about the monthly car pass for Nebraska- found out after 4 weeks in the state! Don't think there was wifi but our Verizon jet pack worked most of the time.
