Great park, great price

Great place! Great amenities. New bathhouse and beautiful lakes. Has lots more to offer than Geneva State Park and excellent wifi, too.

Convenient stop on I-40

No longer a KOA but not too bad other than the highway noise. It is a Good Sam park and has decent showers. Laundry needs work. There are cabins and an interesting park store. If you can get a shady spot it's better, but the 50 amps are on the front in the sun. Sites are not level but we were able to level our 37-foot Motorhome. There are several people staying there for temporary work gigs with local companies & contractors.
The manager, Cassandra, is a sweetheart. The owners don't want to spend money & it's apparent. Still, it's a pretty good stopover and near Walmart and all the fast food, a good restaurant & bar, a good local drive in restaurant, etc.

Jewel of Arkansas' State Park System

Petit Jean has everything. A waterfall, a cave, Indian petroglyphs, miles of hiking trail both easy & challenging, a gorgeous lodge featuring a great restaurant, programs, cabins, and a wonderful campsites that are huge & level for big rigs in section A. Other sections are more primitive for small rigs and tents. There's a park store, and outside the park, a huge conference center & restaurant. The park runs a good sized swimming pool, has tennis courts, paddle boats , fishing docks, pavilions and playgrounds. Only downside is that there is no wifi and no nearby grocery store. One little tourist trap store near the campground charges exorbitant prices even for a loaf if bread. Buy groceries before you go up at one of the stores in Morrilton.
You will love this place. We stay often.

Great place, great amenities!

We started coming here after getting tired of the relatively high prices at Lake Geneva State Park and the lack of water, electric, wifi, cell or satellite.
We love this park. It is quiet during the week, but like any campground so near Lake Erie, it fills on the weekend - but they do control the parties, etc., and strictly enforce speeding, noise, etc.
There's a new shower house that is excellent. The sites are gravel but level. Huge pull theirs at every site and lots of space between rigs. The lakes are beautiful- and there's a swimming lake for kids back in the back of the campground away from traffic. There's a nice playground. They're pet friendly. There's a nicely stocked camp store and it's only minutes to either the town of Geneva or Lake Erie is just down the road.
They store RVs & boats on the front under bright lights. Don't let that put you off, it's beautiful back here in the CG.
Our Satellite works great here, as does phone service. The wifi is the best we've ever had in any campground (but we are parked near the office on the front row). It's more "camp-like" in the back rows near the woods, but since we're full-timers we prefer the front & convenience. Sites on the front have some trees in the back, but are nicely open on the front. Green & grassy place with a gazebo great for reading or meditating- I love it-beside the first lake. Great place to take walks - it's huge. Some privately owned park models/lots in the back - but they're beautiful and the seasonal inhabitants are friendly.
You won't pay the nearby Geneva State Park's prices for electric only sites once you stay here.
