nice location

Lampe Campground is directly across from Presque Isle, a great state park where the bike trails are dotted with pleasant scenery, restrooms and beaches. The campground itself has no sewage but 2 dump stations. The view of the bay is blocked by heavy vegetation but it is also within walking distance of a lovey marina with a public launch next door as well as a pier lined with benches and some covered picnic tables. One can sit and watch the boats and ships going in and out of the bay and if one is lucky, the USS Niagra can be seen coming and going, a great sight to see! Nearby factories ( a COKE plant ) are noisy during the day but seem to calm down at night. Sites are wide and level, restrooms are clean with flush commodes and showers ( it takes some time for the water to heat up for a shower if you are first in the morning! ) A bike trail can be picked up at the little park along the bay and you can ride all the way to the Maritime Museum where the USS Niagra is docked as well as the library, pier and many nice restaurants and shops. Holidays and weekends are very busy at the campground and you will be lucky to get a spot then!
