Great trip!

My husband and I just returned home from our first stay here. We absolutely loved it! All the sites were pull through, the one we chose had some tree roots sticking up but with a little maneuvering we were able to get our travel trailer level without difficulties. The sites were all very large and spaced a good ways apart with electric and water hook up. We saw a lot of wildlife which was nice. We did not use the bathhouse so I can?t comment on that. There was a nice concrete boat ramp with a floating dock for tying off your boat as well as a nice fishing pier where did a lot of crabbing and there was a fish cleaning station. We did not visit any of the historical attractions. Some friends of ours were staying in one of the cottages here and we went and checked it out and was pleasantly surprised! It was very nice and spacious! Our biggest surprise of the whole weekend was that we were not aggravated by bugs or sand gnats. We sat outside both nights and there was a nice breeze. I would highly recommend this park and we are already planning our next trip back!

First camping trip

My husband and I just purchased our travel trailer and this was the very first trip in it. We stayed at Winfield for 7 days and loved it! The staff at the guard shack were very nice and helpful! It?s a gated park so you have to check in at the shack or use a code to get in after hours. The site we chose (site-specific so you choose your own site when you make the reservation) had a beautiful view, was flat, gravel, fairly large, but private due to the trees and shrubs. There was a nice concrete boat ramp and there was an area at our campsite to pull the boat up to. Bath house was very clean as well! Water and electric hookup, no grey water, but had a convenient, clean kept dump station. Would highly recommend this campground!!
