“Sitting on the bank, watching the world go by.” for Island Campground and Marina
2 reviewsVery intersting and fun place. Not the fanicest park, but the location is wonderful. We parked our motorhome facing the Mississippi only about 15 feet from the water. Watching the commerical and recreactional river traffic was great fun. You also have great views of the city or Red Wing, MN, which has a lot of interesting history. There are no sewer hook ups because it is on the flood plain, but a dump station is on site. Restrooms were clean and tidy. Staff was great as well. There are lots of seasonal sites, but the majority are in a separate area.

“Great place for river watching” for Island Campground and Marina
2 reviewsWe spent a long weekend at this park. While not the most fancy park around, the fact that you can park your RV 15 feet from the Mississippi River bank makes up for everything else. Rest rooms were very clean as well as the rest of the park. It was great watching both the commerical and rereactional boat traffic.
There is a bar/pub a short walk away that is fun. You look directly at a ADM processing plant in Red Wing, but it isn't a issue. There also is a lot of train traffic on the other side of the river, but again, I enjoyed watching it all and it wasn't a issue.Date of Stay: September, 2010Rate Paid: $30.00
