Improved

We stayed here a few years ago and it was obvious the owners have made improvements. Felt welcome and special when we were "escorted" to our site. However, some more fixes are still needed. Our sewer hookup was broken; a seemingly-obvious high-priority repair! We secured it with our own equipment. Maybe in another few years, this park will earn five stars. We paid the Good Sam rate.

Adequate, but

Convenient location off I-40. Far enough from the highway to not interfere with sleep. Good for a one-night stay when passing through NM. I'm Advertises cable, but not available on every lot. We had a lot without. Advertises wifi, but it wasn't working! Receptionist was apologetic, but unable to help. Restrooms and showers were clean. Rate was through Good Sam.

New owners

Enthusiastic, helpful new owners took over this park a few months ago. It's now named Sun Valley RV Resort. They are in the process of improving everything and have plans to expand. It's location is convenient for an overnight stop on I-40 in eastern AZ. Our cost was the PA rate. Our rating is based on how helpful they were, not how pretty the park is. It will be interesting to see this park again in another year or two.

Mixed

We thought the park would be like Usery's "sister" park, McDowell, where we stayed several times in past trips to AZ. The two are very similar, both Maricopa Regional parks, and we were not disappointed with the lush desert plant life, spacious lots, nature center programs, trails, etc. at Usery. BUT, the restrooms were not cleaned the entire week we stayed here! We reported a missing shower head our second day here; not fixed. Will try to book earlier next trip so we can return to McDowell.

Never again!

Sand, a few crushed stones, and a broken concrete pad were where we parked our travel trailer for two nights. On both sides and behind us, we were so close, we could hear neighbors' activities inside their RVs! My husband was so disgusted by the mens' room, he couldn't use the facilities, so I chose to not even consider using the ladies' room. If one likes coziness with other RVers, this park might be for you. Weather is great!
