A great National Forest campground

This campground is just inside the Pisgah National Forest near Brevard, NC. The sites are all wooded, very large with wide separation between sites. There are a limited number of sites with electricity hook up but most are dry camping only. The location is great, right on the Davidson River. The river is popular for tubing and fishing and about four miles up the road (276) is Looking Glass Falls, a spectacular waterfall right on the side of the road. Farther up 276 is The Cradle of Forestry, the location of the first school of forestry in the USA, with a wonderful visitor center and paved historic trails. Further up 276 is the Blue Ridge Parkway. There is a lot more to see in the area and yet only two miles from the campground is shopping (including Wal Mart)grocery and restaurants. The campground gets very busy in the summer so get there by early afternoon.
