“Funky place” for Pagosa Springs RV Park (aka The Spa @ Pagosa Springs Resort etc)
0 out of 2 people found this review helpfulThis is 8 RV parking spots in a lot behind a 50's style motel. Only 1 site has a 50 amp hookup. The sites are quite narrow and were muddy when we were there. You get the use of their mineral water hot tub and pool. But the better place is right across the street at the Springs Resort.
It is right in town, so it's easy to walk everywhere and it's a pretty cool town. I probably wouldn't stay here again.

0 out of 1 people found this review helpfulIf you want full-hook ups, this ain't the place. There are only 15 of them and they require reservations. But if you want to be close to the ruins, this is the place to be. The campground is 4 mi inside Mesa Verde, which is about 25 mi from Cortez. The ruins are spectacular and we saw lots of wildlife. It is open early May thru October.
Loved the showers. They are individual VERY clean rooms located at the top of the hill by the store, which is ample.
Each site has a grill, picnic table and benches. Pets are allowed in the campground, but not on the trails, in archeological sites, or in buildings. They must be leashed at all times and you can't leave them unattended or tied to anything.
Wi-fi access is at the camp store.

The campground sits on top of a hill; hard to find a level site, but worth it. 159 of the sites are elctric; 13 are non-electric. Sites can accommodate a 50' unit. It's also hard to find the campground; follow the signs to Old Man's Cave and it is near that. The swimming pool wasn't open when we were there, but it is near the lodge and is open to registered campers.
We hiked the awesome canyons and the cliffs. There are 9 hiking trains on the park, ranging from easy (2) to difficult (1), but 6 of them are rated moderate.

0 out of 1 people found this review helpfulAs a campground, not so great. As a place to be, fabulous. The canyon is stunning and the rangers' programs outstanding. Lots of trails and overlooks. Went on the river tour and that was wonderful, too.
There are 3 loops in the park but only loop B has electrical hookups. Some of the sites are odd-shaped and snug, others are broad and open. The max RV length is 37' 'due to restricted clearance and parking space'.
Reservable season 5/16 thru 9/6. Sites in loop B available May thru October.
Only drinking water in the park so fill up before you get there. No dump station in the park so plan to dump after you leave. Vault toilets and no showers.Date of Stay: September, 2008Rate Paid: $10.00“Right on the lake” for Foscue Park (Corps of Engineers)
1 out of 1 people found this review helpfulWe were parked right on the water on a very level concrete pad. They have added a number of new campsites and upgraded the sites. Every site seems to be nice. It is a beautiful park; we walked and biked all over. The restrooms were very clean. We did have a problem finding it because the address didn't get us there on our Garmin. You need to go west out of town on US 80, turn right onto Maria St, then go about 2 miles to the campground. The hosts were very accommodating and it's very inexpensive because we are seniors.

1 out of 1 people found this review helpfulThis campground features a beautiful lake, and lots of facilities for various organized sports--volleyball, soccer, disc golf etc. There isn't a pool but there is pool about 2 miles from the park. The park is at the eastern edge of MS and there is an interesting German POW museum in Aliceville, just across the border into AL.

There are 2 different areas to stay in the park. Both are nice at different times. The first area you come to is relatively open with sites around a circle and then on the inside of the circle. Good for cool weather. The second area is very wooded and sites are more uneven and a bit damp and dark when it is cool. The campground is quite far from the park itself; and the park is really split into 2 areas, one down by the river and one up on the bluff. Sites are very big. Not very many reserved sites, so you need to come during the week or early for the weekend.

1 out of 1 people found this review helpfulThis is the only RV park on or near Jekyll Island. It is pretty full of snow birders in the winter. Sites are very close--more like a private park than a state park. The bathrooms are acceptable, but little more. Laundry is fine. The bike path goes right by the entrance to the park and goes all around the island. A bike is a good way to explore the island.

1 out of 1 people found this review helpfulThere are 2 camping areas here; we liked one but not the other. The one by the ocean has older restrooms, is very open, and is not as nice. There is a nice pier that goes way out into the ocean. Rode our bikes into Fernandina Beach, which is a very pleasant town.

There are 2 sections to the park; we stayed in the Coquina loop, which is very shady and has secluded campsites. It is just a short walk to the ocean. There are sites very close to the ocean. The other loop is very open with only palm trees for 'shade'. There are a couple of washers and dryers outside the bath house. We loved it here.
