Apple Creek is a wonderful family place

We came in in the evening. Very easy to find, close to the highway 41, but no noise from the highway. The frontage road can have some traffic so bring a fan if you can to drown the noise. The facilities has a wonderful swimming pool, clean restrooms and showers, a rec room and small grocery store, a pond for catch and release fishing, shaded and very clean and groomed RV sites; all around a wonderful place to hook up. We would definitely visit again. We came in a 30 foot travel trailer.

Mud Lake Campground , Dubuque, Iowa

Very difficult to find. The road in is very rough and the turns com quickly without warning. The campground is VERY clean however the showers in the bathroom need help. They are push showers that shut off within seconds and NO HOT WATER. The campground is very noisy with the train tracks slammed up against it and the trains blare their horns when they come through, incluidng the wee hours of the morning. It is child friendly with a wonderful playground but no swimming. There is a muddy inlet area to fish for catfish but you have no view of the mississippi river unless you walk to the inlet. A restuarant/bar is within walking distance and the closest amenities for gas/gorceries is the BP 4 miles away. The road is difficult for big motorhomes so expect some bumps and slow driving on HWY 52 and Mud Lake Road on the way. We barely came through with our 30 foot travel trailer.
