Nice facility, lousy site
We enjoyed our stay, as there were lots of activities for my 13 yr old grand son. And most of the staff was pleasant and helpful.
However, there were two negatives which need to be addressed:
The site (173) was the least level site I've ever encountered! I had 3 leveling blocks under each of the curb side wheels, and it really needed a fourth. I had to move gravel around to get a relatively level spot for the landing gear and rear stabilizer pads. Setting up alone, this took a bit of time.
However, the worst was yet to come. The sewer drain pipe was on the high side, and it took jury-rigging.the sewer hose to get some flow into the drain utilizing not only the sewer line support, but also 2X4 spacers to get close to level and have some flow to the sewer. I guess Yogi doesn't understand that water won't flow uphill!
I should have requested a change of site, but my family had arrived from CT & MA, and spending time with them, rather than hook up, disconnect the water, electric & sewer and move to another site and set up again was not desirable.
Great place for kids
A great place to take kids. This is a destination campground. There is something scheduled every hour for the kids. The place is also gated and fenced so you can let your children roam and they will be safe. In addition they have miniature golf, paddle boats, a great pool, slide and water park, hay rides, outdoor movie theater and other things. The facilities are top notch. The location is close to Skyline Drive and Luray Caverns. There is also a cool Zip Line facility right next door (walking distance).
The price is not cheap but it is a good value if you consider what it includes. Its starts with very nice, well maintained campsites, includes the water attraction and the activities for the kids. If you were to pay for all of these things separately you would end up spending the same if not more. Highly recommend!
Great staff
The staff makes this place great. They're always happy, helpful and fun. Kids activities are the best. The town of Luray is great and nothing beats Skyline Drive in Shenandoah National Park. Our family's favorite!
