Surprising campground

This is a surprising KOA. First, you check-in at the Days Inn hotel desk. The exit from the parking lot is at a curved portion of a hilly road - so beware! Site was not level. We used all our leveling blocks and were still unlevel. Campground was well maintained. All sites have concrete patio. No cable and (surprisingly) decent internet connection and speed. When staying, you have access to the pool, fitness, etc at the hotel up the hill. We stayed during a massive thunderstorm (lasted about 12 hrs) and park drained well. No separate dog run but plenty of space for walking/hiking. Laundry was $2 per wash and $2 per drying cycle. Only 2 washers and dryer available during our stay. Very quiet park - no highway noise heard and other campers were quiet as well. Walmart Supercenter and Pilot Travel Center at same exit on other side of interstate.

Flatwoods KOA

This part is clean and well kept but it is way, way, way overpriced. We paid over $40 per night for a unlevel spot, in the sun (no shade at all) with NO TV reception. We did have wi-fi that worked. The KOA signs to reach the place are small and not for noticeable -- about the size of a sheet of paper - 8 x 11 inches...the road leading up the steep hill to the campground is NOT well marked. I would recommend one of the many local Corps of Engineers campgrounds or state parks nearby. Due to the storm that blew through WV, VA, etc. we had to stay 2 nights before we could go to our final destination. For over $80 for 2 nights we felt like the campground could have been much better.

Great park!

Beautifully maintained park with an adjacent amphitheater. Nestled behind the Days Hotel, where you check in, roomy sites, clean and quiet.
