Beautiful Campground!!

This campground is an awesome place to stay, with West Entrance & West Yellowstone, MT just about 16 miles west, located right at Grand Loop Road - Madison Jct., Old Faithful just a scenic 16 mile drive away, and Mammoth just about 30 miles to the north. Great for just roughing it, or living on your RV resources for a few days. Convenient dump station at entrance, fishing just a short walk away, and plenty of wildlife visible, mainly Elk & Bison.

Madison - Yellowstone

Large camp ground. Strict rules, with regards to keeping the bears away. Clear instructions and expectations. Tight sites if you have trailers and or if you go with the one way flow find your door facing away from your campground. Not dog friendly. Only place your pet is allowed in on pavement. No pet areas but do have cleanup bags for your convenience. Great ranger programs- especially for the kids! Great location for dropping your trailer and visiting the upper part of Yellowstone.

Beautiful campground

Open 5/2 to 10/26. This is a beautiful campground with a number of loops. Most of the sites are pull thrus; the roads are blacktop and the sites are gravel. There is LOTS of space between the sites, in all directions. It is close to the Firehole River where there is great elk watching and fishing. They sell firewood at the entrance. Better make a reservation (it is free) because it fills up early, even in September. We came at 3:30 PM and lucked out because someone had just called in to cancel a reservation (bless you!). Each has a picnic table and a fire ring. Loved this park best of all the Yellowstone campgrounds.
