Small but excellent park

Friendly park on the Colorado river with access to swimming and water sports. Also small pool and clubhouse. Gets booked up from October to March with snowbirds so book early. Great hosts.

Nice on the outside but, not so much when you stay here.

Where do I begin? While the park looks good on the web site and even when you first pull in, it is all smoke and mirrors. We stayed at this park for 3 months only because we had to due to business obligations. Take that map and rules the manger gives you and ball it up and throw it in the trash can because there is no one who enforces these rules once you clear the front gates.

I will start with the pool, it was in the triple digit temps and there is no cover at the pool so you would only want to use it at night, sorry, they lock the gate to the pool at dusk along with the community room where the weight room is at. The only reason for this we could find was that the manager was too lazy to go out and lock it at 10 or 11PM like most parks. There is air conditioning in the weight room but, the park manager, Miranda has the control under lock n key and she will not turn it on unless she sees a reason to. We complained to her that working out in the gym was hazardous due to the heat and no air but, she will only turn it on if she feels the need.

The same goes for the showers. It is so hot in the bathrooms that when you get out of the shower your already sweating. The water has one temp and that is scolding hot. There was a light out in the shower that we asked to have fixed for 3 months and it was never fixed. So your showering in the dark.

You cannot run your air and use the microwave at the same time at this park. It will constantly blow breakers. We had to help a couple who were first time RV’ers with resetting the breaker because Miranda was not around even though she lives there. Don’t expect any help with anything at this park.

Miranda gives you the park rules all of which are not enforced. Great if your looking for a place to let your dog run loose, have loud parties, people double parking everywhere including in your space and fireworks being let off. We brought it to her attention but, it continued. She appears to be a partier herself and doesn’t want to be the bad person. She does give a lot of lip service but no action.

Then there is the river which made you go there in the first place. Forget about launching your boat because the river is always low at the ramp, which in itself is a nightmare to use especially if you have a large boat. If by chance the water is up, you are not supposed to dock your boat for more then one hour but, everyone we saw left their boat docked so you could not use what space there was.

Then there were people who camped out on the boat ramp because there was no beach access to the water. People also left their boats and jets skis in the swimming area because there was no room at the dock and if there was, they thought that since you were not supposed to dock your boat for over an hour, then why not just leave it in the swimming area. Don’t leave your boat or jet ski out over night because the river is so low till around noon that your water toy will be sitting on the ground.

One last thing. There is the issue with their not being truthful in their rates. We chose site #27 because of it’s size. It allows you to park a 40 foot RV and it has room for a boat and vehicle. It is really 2 spaces (refer to the park map between the apartments and the cottages, next to the boat ramp). We were told we would be allowed to have those vehicles on that space on the phone but, when we checked in we were told we would have to pay for boat storage even though it had more then plenty of room at the space for all my vehicles. She said all boats have to pay a storage fee even if it fit on the space. The whole reason for getting that spot was for it’s size. We were told the space would cost $550.00. We ended up paying $600 plus electricity which came to over $700.00 a month. Apparently Miranda makes up the rules as she goes.

Like I said it looks great until your actually there.

Steadily improving

The attraction here is that the park is on the Colorado river -- very nice. The park is clean and well tended but the clubhouse is old and shabby yet. Improvements may be coming. Entertainment is to be had in Laughlin, NV.

Good Enough

It's a nice, clean place to stay but calling it a resort is a bit of a stretch.

The sites are plenty wide and have great privacy from neighbors, but they're short so if your rig is long you'll need to park somewhere besides your spot. Otherwise the sites are big, clean and nicely decorated with lighting and a small patio/table for each RVers. There are mostly long termers here but they keep the place tidy.

Staff is nice and friendly. There's a bit of waterfront access and a nice clubhouse. But don't expect to get all of your laundry done here, there's only one washer and dryer and they're pricey. My only other complaint is that the wireless Internet is not free and they slap a 48-hr download limit on you.

Otherwise it's a fine place to stay for a night or two.
