Beautiful Campground
The campground is very clean. The staff were very nice. We were escorted to our site when we arrived. The resort is right on the river and you can hear the river from the river sites. We will definitely come back again.
Right on the American River
Stayed here 4 nights at the end of September. The park was clean, restrooms and showers cleaned daily and were in great shape, although I opted to use mine in the trailer. Our group stayed in the sites right along the river, and had water and electricity only. The park does have full hookup sites, but not on the water. Each site had an awning and table, although we didn't use them, and moved them to the front of the site so we could use our RV awnings. Nice plus for those without cover. Some of the sites were a bit snug, but still large enough to accommodate a slideout and the picnic table.
The store was well stocked, and the resort staff were outstanding! Upon check-in, they offered to have a staff person help me to my site (which I declined), but I found that to be a nice offer not common to other parks. Sites are dirt and gravel, and there are grassy areas within the resort. River rafting and historical site seeing (where Sutter discovered gold) are right next to the resort. Entrance to the resort is gated for guest privacy. The only reason I didn't give this place 5 stars is the lack of full hook-up sites. There is a dump station available. That said, it is hardly a reason to not stay here. 5 stars for the staff! We'll be back again!
One other bit of info, and it has nothing to do with the park - if you are on Hwy 49 coming from I-80/Auburn, the road is very steep and winding for the first few miles. Big Rigs towing a car would be best to come from Hwy 50 to Hwy 49. Check your map!
One of my favorites
Clean right on the river lots to do camping with pool lots of Group room not an resort more like camping dirt and grass people let you park to optimize spaces
