Good Spot Among Redwoods

The Santa Cruz Redwoods RV Resort was very nice. Located within the redwood trees and backs up to the San Lorenzo river. We have a 28? TT with one slide out. We stayed in site 33 next to the clubhouse, which is the last site on that row. We arrived around 6pm Friday night, the office was closed and almost all the spaces were already filled. That created a nightmare for attempting to back into site 33 with almost no clearance on either side. Thankfully two fellow campers came to our aid and helped me back in. A special shout out to campers Joe and Dave! It literally took almost 20 minutes due to how tight the space was. I had read that some of the spaces were tight, but that was an understatement for site 33 and 32.
Thankfully, the site required minimal leveling, however, all my hookups were in the middle of site 32?s patio area. Because of how close we were to our neighbors, we quickly became friends and drinking pals, so kudos on that front. However, we could easily hear them and they could easily hear us when in our campsites. It was so tight, that we couldn?t even put out our 8?x12? rug or extend our awning.
Once settled in and de-stressed via a cocktail it was actually quite a nice park nestled in the redwoods. The kids said the showers worked great and had plenty of pressure and hot water.
Lots of families and kids riding bikes, scooters and playing. We were totally fine with that but if you want peace and quite, I?d recommend a mid-week stay. The WiFi worked well considering how packed the campground was. The restrooms were very clean.
The Santa Cruz Redwoods RV Resort worked great as a home base. We went to the Mystery Spot, the beach and out to a nice dinner at The Crow?s Nest in Santa Cruz which is 10 minutes away. We will be back in a few weeks (Memorial Day weekend) to go to the beach boardwalk, however, we will be getting a much better site for backing in.
Definitely use the directions on the SC Redwoods RV Resort website to get there safely with your rig. Do not come up Hwy 9, it?s WAY too narrow.

Santa Cruz Redwood RV Trip

What an amazing week in Felton. This is a great park. Close to everything. We went to Big Basin and Henry Cowell State Parks, Santa Cruz Boardwalk and drove the coast to Half Moon Bay. Definitely returning.

Manager is a jerk, other than that, great place

We stayed here for about a week, and aside from som jerk who said he was the property manager coming by to harass me in the middle of the night, and walking right through people's campsites (right along their RV) in the middle of the night, the place was great. The showers are a little small, but the place is clean and well kept, and the girls who work in the office are great.

If you stay along the fence and the small creek, the neighbors on the other side of the fence make quite a bit of noise, and the RV park really can't do anything about that, so if that might bother you, try to stay on the other side of the park.

IMO, site 31 is the best in the park.

Loved it here!

Wow, beautiful location amongst the redwood trees. We were in site #22 which is a river view site and loved it. Possibly the best site in the park, except for the trail access down to the creek which is located right by the campsite and we experienced a lot of foot traffic. You got to see everyone, but it wasn't too bad that it ruined our time.

The sites are on the small side and you are very close to your neighbors. But our patio area was very spacious and we had a fantastic view.

Internet was very good. Although they said it only works when it wants. We didn't have any issues.

It cost $5 to rent a fire-pit for your entire stay and also $5 for bundles of wood.

We had friends staying in the tent area which was nice and spacious, close to the bathrooms but also on the noisy side with the proximity to highway 9.

Camp hosts were very very nice and very helpful.

We loved it and would high
recommend it.

Quiet and lovely

We stayed in a riverside spot that felt nice and isolated from the rest of the park. The tall redwood trees are absolutely lovely providing lots of nice shade, and the river is slow moving but still peaceful. The staff is very friendly, and the bathrooms were fairly clean. The fountain area is really a quaint little town with lots of fun activities, I really like the state park just across the river. Access to Santa Cruz is also very easy via the fun to drive highway 9.

I would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful Santa Cruz Reswoods

This is out second time at this RV park and we live it. Staying in site 84 which is plenty deep for our 32 foot RV, picnic table, chairs, fire pit, dog pen and BBQ and it's fully shaded. There is a really nice creek that runs along the back end of the property and Henry Cowell redwoods is a mile or so away with lots of trails for walking or hiking. The bathrooms are very clean and the hosts are pleasant and very nice. We are coming back for Thanksgiving :)

Tranquil Camping

The resort was easy to get to & we enjoyed the beautiful redwoods. The 'river' was a shallow rocky stream bed - but interesting to explore. However, it was a bit of a climb down & up again & at one point you have to actually use a rope to repel down the last 10 feet or so. Also, our particular spot was fairly tricky to back into - rather tight. The facility overall was well kept and the staff were friendly and attentive. Unfortunate that other campers didn't abide by the quiet & dogs on leash rules, but the manager was quick to respond when my husband told him about kids running up & down & parties going on at 2am. Santa Cruz beach was 15 minutes away & there were plenty of good places to eat nearby as well. Having to rent a fire pit was a bit of a bummer (guess we'd better buy our own for future visits). There is no formal dump station (we were told it was 'defunct') - but staff told us just to dump both gray & black water/waste right at the site, so we did. We would stay here again.
